Tell me what you think of these combinations
Comments (2)My fuji water falls is the only hydrangea I have that has not bloomed in three years. I am in a high wind area so that is really hard on the plants but I think I would make sure it does well for you before committing to more of them. BB does well and I don,t think you could go wrong with it. A oak leaf gets big but might be that woodsy look your looking for. Now you have got me thinking I am going to have to do a little research and see if I can find a white lace cap for my woodsy moon garden;) Addiction? I don,t know what your talking about, its called denile LOL....See MoreLet's see photos of hydrangea foliage in autumn!
Comments (18)I do the same as hc mcdole to post photos. My phone (an iphone) uses the same cable to charge as to hook into my computer (Mac) via the USB port. When I plug it in, iPhoto automatically opens and starts the download process. In iPhoto I can crop the photo or turn it so that it is upright before posting. A couple of other options exist that should work with any smartphone. You can post directly from the phone by using the phone's browser (which I hate doing since the screen is so tiny!) and navigating to the GW page you want to post to, and then selecting the photo icon below the box where you post and navigating to where the photo is stored on your phone. OR you can email the photo to yourself, download the photo from the email, and then post from your computer. Within the phone's file of photos, if you click on a particular photo, there should be an option (you might have to touch the photo to make the option visible) to transfer the photo elsewhere (Facebook, email, etc.) and you can just follow the screen prompts....See MoreHow far back can I trim my oakleaf hydrangea?
Comments (18)Her hee hee! I go to some nearby gardens (to get my mom to exercise) and they have these huge Oakleaf Alice hydrangeas. I finally saw the bark change there in winter. Like you said, huge leaves too but my oakleafs hide the bark with leaves in selected (most) years. The smallest always looses the leaves but I always fail to look at its bark because it is near some Crape Myrtles that also do that bark change and I always fixate on them and forget to look at Ruby Slippers due to taller evergreens that block the hydrangea a little. PeeWee also stays fully dressed in winter but others in the back may let me see the bark change one of these years. I think I saw some of their bark this year because its leaves dried out on top but the bottom ones stayed green a tad longer. Made me panic thinking it was a watering issue during winter but the soil felt moist. Gardengal48, please elaborate on the designs that you mentioned!...See MoreFall Season Hydrangea
Comments (20)Would it be possible for posters to use the name of the hydrangeas when known rather than initials or ? I do not grow very many piniculatas. I do however have about 45 or so macrophyllias and serattas and would not expect anyone to know them by an abbreviation not common to all gardeners. Thank you....See More- 8 years ago
