Frost on chicken wire?

We had snow once in the 38 years of living in California in 2006. Lemons and oranges in the snow.

Right on, Alisande. My daughter sent the pic from her phone early this morning. She lives about 4 miles on the other side of town and had heavy fog this morning with temps in the 20's, thus the hoar frost. Had none of that beauty here.

Those are very unusual photos, caflower. I assume the oranges were frozen. Thanks for sharing the pictures. They often have to run fans (or something) in the Ojai area when it gets frosty. I remember when smudge pots were used; not sure if they do that anymore.

I think it snowed as well back in the early 50's or maybe late 40's. (Referring to lower elevations where it "never" snows, not the mountains of course).

Susan, Is that the Walmart closest to you? If it is, I don't live too far from you, but the only birds I've seen in the Walmart parking lot here, are pigeons, and few of those.

Mare, this was in Dickson City, not the one I usually go to. I don't see gulls at that one, but I do see them across the street at McDonald's. Not in the numbers I saw yesterday in Dickson City though. A friend of mine was at Target (near Walmart) around the same time, and she was amazed at the size of the flock. I was feeding them, so I had lots of photo ops. :-)

Dickson City is only about 20-25 miles from here. I haven't been there in a long time, but I used to go frequently before we got our own craft stores here. I don't remember seeing gulls there. I'm sure I haven't seen them at the local Walmart. Now that I think about it, there's a big landfill near Scranton. I wonder if that's what draws the gulls, then they migrate to Dickson City. I'll have to look into it.

socks - some of the fruit was frozen but surprisingly most were OK.
