Are you quilting this weekend? Dec. 17-18
Comments (10)Me-Me-Me!!! I am right with ya! Furiously is the perfect word. I am taking a break from putting the binding on the 'her' of a his & her pair of quilts. Similar, but different, both 9Patch Pizazz using a wine themed group of different fabrics, but the same backing. I hope to load the 'his' today and decide on the quilting -- and I may need more batting!!! I had forgotten that! Need to check that now! I am also on my 4th quilt to wash - why do I wait until the last minute??? It is cold in my house, so they are slow to dry, as I take them out of the dryer a little damp. 2 Quilts were mailed this week and I just found out the boxes were received yesterday. I want/need to start a new project - if it weren't for Christmas, I would not be disciplined enough not to! I laid out the fabric and prewashed and even picked the thread to quilt it! Sometimes I need to be saved from myself :)...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Dec. 14-15
Comments (7)I hope to finish what is now what I refer to as "the Leddy quilt". All that's left to do is quilt a border seam and the binding. I pray I get it done. Then on to 4 stockings for my daughter and an apron for my SIL. Did I mention I need to finish shopping? However in spite of all the sewing I need to do, today I'm going with my dear Marine hubby as he plays Gunny Claus for military families at Camp Lejuene, NC 20 miles from our home. This is the first year he has done it and he loves it. Tonight is my first night going. So sewing will have to wait. Gunny Claus has priority tonight. Darlene...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (11)We decided that after several years of not putting out every Christmas decoration that poor DH drags out of the attic, some things need to go. We wound up completely emptying 10 bins! (Now I have some to store more sewing stuff in!) Still haven't put up the tree, not ready yet, but did put out a few things. So I did some FQM this weekend but not much. Gardening chores are finally starting to slow down so I won't have that excuse. I REALLY want to finish this thing and move ON. So I've done some this morning but really need to go to the grocery store. Maybe later on today. I promise I'll post a photo when done and I think I've decided who to gift it to. It's a man so hope he appreciates it but since it's a gift I have to cut the ties emotionally and not think about it anymore regardless of the reaction....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (11)Congratulations, Sue, on your beautiful new granddaughter. I hope you get to cuddle with her soon. I'm just hanging around the house finishing the top to the crazy, colorful "Fiesta" quilt. When I have only a little time and a little initiative, I'm making 4.5" by 10.5" string blocks out of scraps that are less than 1.5" wide at at least 5" long. I'm really having fun with them. I rifled through my paper recycling for paper that I could cut as foundations. I've got about 10 made already out of the 48 I need for the String-X Quilt. We had a Christmas house party last night and another one tonight. Tomorrow is my chorus's holiday concert, and then we're having friends over for dinner. My DH is cooking osso buco, a yummy Italian veal dish. I did manage enough ambition to make five types of cookies this year, so I'll have a dessert to serve. I think I will probably have most of you beaten in the COLD department. It's supposed to be 25 degrees below zero by morning here in Minneapolis with a wind chill factor of -45. What kind of a nut would live in this climate?...See Morebeth7happy
