Painted & pretty headboard bench!
Comments (12)G to G, The flowers to left in lavender & red/orange are geraniums, I got a piece from 2 neighbors, they get big so only problem is lot of trimming back! The ladder was curb find & already that short, rustic with scattered paint spots, by tree is a metal frog on a metal rod holding a yellow flower,he is kind of crazy looking & fun. The little green curlycue thing is a little trellis in pot about 18in. tall it's close to right end where the antique watering can is sitting. Pink flowers,ah,well, should I tell...My DS was looking at bridge construction all the way up to San Fransisco & by large bridge he saw this succulent It is velvety, gets big & covered the hillside then it sends out 6-8in. long spikes with little pink flowers on them. I told him he shouldn't have taken a piece but he said he didn't see any signs. Well, I'm enjoying it & it is reminder of his trip it is actually sitting behind the bench & it gets about 2 ft tall, whole row of plants back there covered right now with orange blossoms dropping so will clean out after they finish dropping & last item is red geranium start to give away once it filled out. Thanks for all the nice comments, sorry it took a year to finally get it posted! I love it just as much or more after having used it all this time ! Jan...See MoreMy latest headboard bench
Comments (19)That's beautiful! I love how you used the spindles to make the arm rests! And the decorative one on the bottom front of it. That's just absolutely charming! Perfect spot for it,the table and bench just go together. And great job on the stenciling,too....See MoreHead Board Bench
Comments (14)Like Marlene, I'd love to see someone get a hernia trying to make off with it! lol! That is one substantial bench! Even I wouldn't worry about sitting on it. I love the turned wood on the headboard - just gorgeous!...See MoreWhat kind of headboard would work?
Comments (27)All I can see in that room is one of those very curvy upholstered headboards. Something with an impact like this, but perhaps cut both sets of the side arc lower/closer to the bed while keeping the top center arc the same height to give it more definition. Your room is lovely and monochromatic (unless it's my monitor?), so to continue in that vein, the fabric could be a plain black, a plain blue to match your lampshades, a color to match your curtain with a contrasting grosgrain ribbon around the edges.. etc. Personally I can actually see the red (or another strong color) in your room and like the proportions of white and color in the above image, but would choose a more mature (but still large-scale) pattern like a damask, geometric medallion or ikat. Not sure you would want to go in that direction, but I think it would work. I really love your walls of art - I hope to have something like that someday.
