CL headboard possibility - what do you think?
Comments (31)Hey, thanks again for the input! Oh, and before I forget -- Deborahnj, little Tristan is doing beautifully! He's growing and thriving and is a cute little butterbean of a baby. Thank you for asking! :-) I know it sounds unbelievable that we could get a king mattress up the stairs, but not a headboard. Well, that's because a mattress bends! Not so with a headboard! And no, the little niche that you see just to the right of the bed is not a full size that you could fit a bed within. It's just a little bump-in that houses a small closet: I've actually looked on Craig's List for a pair of twin headboards that we could make work, but haven't found anything yet. I'll keep searching, though -- eventually something is bound to pop up! Thanks again for the wonderfully creative ideas! You've all given me a few more options to chew on. :-)...See Moreneed help selecting a bed/headboard
Comments (7)I love the first one for a little girl and it will look great without a footboard just with that pretty headboard by itself. It will look even prettier if you have an eyelet bedskirt or some kind of bedskirt that is white. I have a bed with an Rustic Ivory Iron Headboard with no footboard due to the size of my bedroom and I am very happy I chose no footboard to make my room appear smaller with less walking room. If I had a big bedroom, I would love a footboard. I also had a Stanley Fiasco and despite missing the styling of the Cottage Revival Furniture (I loved the bun feet and beadboard sides that were really veneered wood over particle board but pretty.... I do not miss the mismatched furniture, peeling paint, spintered and chipped runner, holes in back of bureaus, and many other quality control issues) , I love the fact that my solid Maple Wood Durham Furniture (Royal Cottage in Sand White) came to me in such wonderful shape and MATCHING and did not waste 2 weeks of my time due to the poor quality control from Stanley and the Kearny, NJ store actually allowing furniture that was so mismatched in color with so much damage to be delivered to my home. I sure wish I found my new retail store in Flemington, NJ first since I am sure (based on what they told me and seeing how wonderful they were with my Durham Delivery) they would have never let furniture with that quality enter my home based on what they have told me when I showed them the pictures of the Stanley Furniture. Also The Durham furniture was ready in 6 weeks rather than 11 weeks like the Stanley Furniture....See MoreFuture Guest Room: Fabric for headboard, bed. Lamps, window treatment?
Comments (14)Yes, you can order just the headboard and use a heavy duty bed frame. That's what I did with the Charles P Rogers iron bed in my guest room. I love the look of the footboard but didn't have much space. Brass Beds of Virginia also offers a low footboard for its iron beds. I like that option better than no footboard because I think the interlocking frame makes for a more sturdy bed. If you go to their website and click on a bed you like you might be able to see an illustration of what the low footboard option would look like....See MoreHeadboard vs. Bed
Comments (38)The language of feng shui may sound a little woo-woo to those of us with a Western education and mindset, but from my limited reading about it, a lot of it seems firmly rooted into the psychology of how we relate to spaces and objects (real or perceived), sometimes rooted in a very primitive part of our brains. Like when my bed was oriented so my head was opposite the door. Or sleeping underneath an object or architectural feature that give the impression it could fall on you....See MoreSimply Elegant Home
