Send his artwork so grandma can put it on her refrig. I had all kinds of artwork covering my refrig. 3 of our grandchildren lived in Texas and we lived in Georgia. It was hard to get to know them, but somehow we connected. We made sure that they had the birthday gifts from us and Christmas gifts too. We couldn't compete with the other grand parents on a monetary level so we just sent what we could afford. They loved us just like the other grandparents. I would also write them each a note from time to time. When they visited us we let them do what they wanted from tent houses in a bedroom to roaming through our basement. Fun things for kids who lived in a sterile neat environment. Nothing wrong with that but sometimes kids need to know they don't have to be neat all the time. Mary

Oh, Frosted! Be careful! I know, it's too late now, you've already messed up. Just kidding, so sorry about your back. Man you have to be so careful. I hope it resolves quickly. Back pain is no fun. I like that floor lamp and hope, in due time, you get it together and it does just the trick. My hubby was doing some "work outside" items and man he scared me. I told him, we don't want a trip to the ER because the shovel hit your toe or some such thing. He just doesn't get he can't do what he used to do. Yikes! I am praying our above degree temperatures down here will help kill this doggone virus. So far, our immediate area doesn't have much at all. Of course, we have our share of "stupid" people who make it hard on everyone else! grrrr! Stay safe everyone. Happy Day!

He does live alone and family is nearby. Generally, someone sees him everyday, but of course that is not the case currently. One family member has been seeing him every few days to bring food (he doesn’t cook - just reheats) and socialize. Nobody else is visiting because we want to limit any possible exposure. It sounds like a simplified iPad may work just as well. I think if we called first to tell him we are planning a FaceTime call it would work well. He may play games if the buttons are large enough (we always tease that he has “pillow fingers” so the touchscreen may prove to be tricky). We will have to look into the Amazon Echo Show; I’m not familiar with it. I think the fact that most of the family is already familiar with iPads is a big plus in getting him setup with one.
