Modern baby cribs

Hello, I am a first time Grandma-to-be who hasn't been crib shopping in over 30 years. I was looking at cribs online (Babys R Us, Sears, Kohls and Overstock so far). I'm a little confused. It doesn't look as though the rail lowers on these new cribs, or maybe the "kick bar" is hidden. I can't imagine having to bend so far to pick up the baby several times per day. It looks like the emphasis is on convertible cribs which lets the buyer use the frame to make it into a double bed. But I am more concerned about its use as an infant and toddler crib and the functionality of putting a child in and out without back strain.

I thought if I could order it online it could be delivered to my daughter and son in law since they live in a rural area a few hours from me.

Can anyone tell me what they know about modern cribs and if they make them so the side rail comes down?

Thank you!
