Is makeup for the Woman, a Man(or S/O), Image...or ALL?!
Comments (37)I wear makeup for myself. It is all about putting your best foot forward. I feel the same way about not wearing frumpy clothes, LOL. It makes me feel better about me, and I think when you feel good about yourself, it shows in your overall attitude. I wear light makeup - as someone said, to enhance. I do don't eye shadow colors - taupe or charcoal to shade and a pale shade as the base. Soft eye pencil. I use a bb creme or mineral foundation very lightly and a bit of concealer under my eyes and anywhere else needed. Not a powder person. A little natural looking blush and mascara and I am good to go. I do however use a bright color on my lips - it looks best on me. A bright, deep pink is my best color. However, I use a sheer version - a lipstain or a gloss, semi lipstick, etc. never a full coverage lipstick. For going out or something dressy, I just deepen my eye makeup a bit and also the lips. tina...See MoreMakeup for Seniors
Comments (41)I watched the video the other night and then watched a bunch more for older women. I'm 52 and don't wear makeup much at all. Especially at work. I quit wanting to take all that time fixing my face every morning. I already had to get up so early and didn't get home till late....so I stopped. It'd been a couple, 3 or 4 years? since I had worn makeup at work and then I wore it a couple months ago. People were coming up to me and making comments about me wearing makeup. I really didn't like the attention. No one said I should do it more often or that it looked good, just exclaimed that I was wearing it. That kind of freaked me out and I haven't worn it since. Then I watched those videos and I wore some last night when Lauren and I went out to eat. ( She's home on spring break.) Then today I bought some nude shade of lipstick and some face cream since after putting on the foundation last night I could see every wrinkle in my face. The mascera was bugging the crap out of me, though. i finally washed my face so I could get rid of that. If I get up early enough tomorrow I may put some makeup on....See MoreMakeup Mirror
Comments (22)Justine, thank you for asking this. I was actually starting a post about make up mirrors yesterday but it was running late and I had shopping to do. My DMIL gave me a lighted make up mirror that hangs on the wall. When I had my bathroom painted I took it down as it was a shiny polished brass and didn't go with my polished chrome and nickel fixtures. I am looking for a different one and wondered what everyone else uses. I bought a cheapy plastic one but it only has 5X and I need 10X magnification. I am thinking I will replace it with this: http://www.amazon.com/Danielle-Revolving-Wall-Mounted-Lighted-Mirror/dp/B0023RSY9W/ref=sr_1_54_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1456667630&sr=8-54&keywords=make+up+mirrors The only thing I don't like is the LED lighting around it because I don't need the additional light. I apply my make up in the bathroom that has both artificial and natural light. Looking in a magnifying mirror can be quite the experience but I think good make up application and making sure there are no harsh lines or smudges is more important than the shock of all the fine lines you see....See MoreEye makeup/skin care advice
Comments (80)BB, I want to look like your mom when I grow up. :) Actually it would e great if the photo went there! lol. All but one of my grandparents (granddad) had passed before I was born. My dad was an only child, my mom grew up in an orphanage beginning around age 5. I know absolutely nothing about the three that passed Ida, the thing is, it doesn't take a great deal of makeup to look nice. It just takes a good product (drug store brands do qualify) and how to apply it. I was shocked at all the goop put on those ladie's faces. I'm more concerned with skin tone and of course my eye's looking dead. I don't wear foundation and rarely I wear concealer. In the above pic I did have concealer on under the eyes, and I finally learned how to apply it. What a difference it made! My eyes will always be a crap shoot though. I remembered I had Elf Lip Lock crayon (used to be called pencil but they're the same product) and I used it today for the first time because my upper lip has recently started to feather a bit. They didn't feather at all with the Elf....See MoreBunny
