I just finished a new second story on our home. We now have an ocean view so I had a little fun by downloading an image and making a custom wave mural. When our kids were younger, we‘d have to leave the candy bowl unattended for an hour or two while we rang doorbells. One year I was walking past our house and could hear kids on the porch saying “the sign says to take one or two” “oh, oops” and I saw a kid put one back! One year, we had to go to an appointment so we set the bowl on a kitchen stool. As we headed to the garage, we heard “crash (giggles)”. I threw open the front door, saw an empty bowl and 3 boys running down the walk and yelled “Stop right there!” They froze. In my best stern teacher voice “Was that the right thing to do?” All three turned around. “Noooo...” “Put it back.” They did. “Sorry Mrs. Path.” We KNEW these boys it turned out, friends of my son! Actually pretty good kids. I said each of their names but nothing else. Finally told the moms about it about 4 years later, we couldn’t stop laughing. But I really was surprised at the boys, they knew it was our house and really were friends with our son.

Beautiful and inspiring. Maybe because I already live alone, I always try to see the beauty of the world around me. Just this morning, while walking Carmelita, I saw two different parents with their children, taking a walk, enjoying the mild temps. I spoke to one, my neighbor across the street. He had his 18 month old daughter in a backpack on his back. As soon as I said "hi", that baby's face lit up in a big smile. She is the happiest baby and they are a very nice little family. I am blessed to have nice neighbors all of whom I met while walking my dogs over the years. Yes, it's a difficult time and I miss being able to just head out with friends for fun times, but it is a good time to look inward and try to appreciate all that I have and what I can do to help others. This is what I got right now. When we get it cleaned up I’ll post better. There is a keeping room right off the kitchen (no pix) with teal furniture, black eames chair, tv and brick fireplace, then the dining room you see here with the live edge table and orange chairs. It’s split level and the dining room is open to the living room (second two pix), a half flight down. Kind of confusing. It’s really a pretty house, built in 1955. Why don’t I have better pix?? 🙄
