Comments (94)I never wash my down beds - that clumps the feathers ! I do hang them out in the winter to fluff them up ! Like the German story for children : Frau Holle :) I guess it is a preference :) but Germans never wash their down comforters ( they usually cost about 300 dollars and upward , depending on the feather fill ) I just got rid of some my mom used to have about 45 years old !...See MoreQuestion about non heated storage of washer
Comments (11)Auto antifreeze will work perfectly fine. Here in the Cleveland area we get the extremes of weather. 90's with very high humidity in the summer, and cold (can go below zero) and a lot of snow in the winter. Last 2 winters were very bad. We had below zero days and record breaking amounts of snow. We're all holding our breaths for this winter hoping that Elsa will not be singing "let it snow, let it snow" again....See MoreFabric softener recommendations
Comments (47)I only use it on my towels. No matter which detergent I use the towels (which are new) come out too rough without it otherwise I wouldn't. (I can see larsi rolling his eyes at grandma greenie here). I don't find it restricts absorbency. I only have used Mrs. Meyers and Vernel. They both do a good job but the Vernel smells like industrial cleaner. Fragrance wise the Mrs. M is best though the Vernel seems to last through several washes. Hard to tell. Mrs. M is very thick and I dilute it by 50%. It doesn't leave any gunk in the washer. I add some vinegar and hot water to the dispenser to clear it out after the two towel loads otherwise the dispenser stays coated. Never use FS on clothes. Most cottons get ironed and don't need it....See MorePods + Miele washer. Ughhhhhh :-o
Comments (28)Drop it in a sock or pillow case? Hmm . . . I had given up on pods. Like a fool, I put one in the detergent drawer of my new SQ FL the second or third time I used it. Water, water, everywhere! And not in the machine. That's when I realized FLs were truly different from TLs! LOL. But I do like pods if I can get them on a really good sale....See Moresandy1616
