10 years agoGrand Turk. I see these in most ports in the Caribbean. Some are close to the shore such as this, others are farther out. All abandoned. I would think that a salvage company could make some easy money on this situation.

Comments (6)I love your picture, Schoolhouse! It really has a wonderful feeling to it. It attracts and yet you know it's really cold out there! I lived in Baltimore for 14 years and I was very close to Pennsylvania. I loved taking a drive up through the countryside and seeing the Amish and their horse and buggies. 10 years agoJim and Glenda's photos remind me of a kayaking trip I took to Mallows Bay along the Potomac River south of DC, where the remains of hundreds of ships lie just below the water line, emerging at low tide.
There is one large steel wreck, shown here, and many other older vessels that are mostly reduced to wooden pieces and rusty bits.
An aerial view shows the outlines of where the ships were.
