RECIPE: Slice and bake christmas cookies (refrigerator cookies)
Comments (2)Dances, Thank you for the cookie recipe! I no longer have the stamina to mix a big batch of cookies together and then bake them all, but this is doable. Mix, put in fridge for when I want them, bake as many as I want at a time (I even used the toaster oven for a few), and they taste great! SharonG/FL...See MoreChristmas Cookie Rules.....

Comments (4)I NEEDED this info tonight!!!!! I just made 6 dozen sugar cookies...NO, I don't make cut outs, just dropped... so I will frost most of them red and tell people that they only have 3 calories!!! I only have 5 things (Chex mix, lemon cookies, cinnamon popcorn, caramel cashew clusters & Cappuccino bread..6 Peppermint meltaways were requested too) to make this weekend, then they will mostly be distributed the first of the week. :) Oh...and I DO have to taste test everything I make...just to make sure it is safe for everyone else to eat! I HAVE TO! That is MY rule!! =))...See MoreAre you baking Christmas cookies? What kind?
Comments (104)I found the Eggnog Snickerdoodles on the cooking forum years ago. I made them last night and they were very good! I couldn't find Brandy extract so I just used cognac instead. I also added a little bit of cinnamon. Eggnog Snickerdoodles 2 3/4c flour 1 1/2c sugar 1 c butter, softened 2 eggs 2 tsp cream of tartar 1 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp brandy extract 1/2 tsp rum extract 1/8 tsp nutmeg Sugar mix: 1/4c sugar 1tsp nutmeg Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add flour, cream of tartar brandy and rum extract, salt, soda and nutmeg. Mix well. Chill. Shape into 1 tsp sized balls. Roll in sugar mix. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350° or until cookies are lightly browned. Yields 2 dozen. Recipe easily doubles with no problem....See More
