Wow, they took the phrase "outdoor kitchen" literally! Are those wood cabinets outside? Are they in decent shape with the humidity, heat, rain, etc?

Would you consider installing a real bbq where that "grill" is?

I would want to take down the uppers that I assume are blocking some light to the kitchen. And I'm not even sure I'd keep that run of counters to the left of the sink because that whole space feels awfully closed in as is.

I would rip all those cabinets out. Keep a little covered free standing grill somewhere, but not on the under-roof patio. That area needs a place to sit, drink and eat outdoors next to the pool. How much sf with it all out? CB2 has some smaller sturdy inexpensive outdoor tables with benches. The nook area where the stove top is would be a perfect place for rust proof hooks and a sign above that says " wet towels here". If you are going to rent it out furnished or even if not it would help maintain the interior. You also need a fan somewhere.

Edited to add: I just noticed that that area is not all under roof (?) Or is that glass up there? Can you do something about that? It's horrible not being able to get out of the sun if one wants.

Is there a sitting area hiding somewhere outside? Seems strange to have an outside kitchen with no place to eat. For outdoors I would want a charcoal or gas grill, not electric. Having everything in that small nook must make it a warm job if you are using that outside kitchen, no cross breeze. I might tear the whole thing out and install a pass through window from the inside kitchen.

robo and chispa, I would definitely rip out everything existing and start over - every square inch inside and out. The dilemma I have is: what on earth works in such an odd space? It certainly doesn't need to be a kitchen.

maddielee, yes, I would create at least two other sitting areas along the back (to the right of where the photo ends), including one large, covered lanai area where a dining table would be placed. It makes more sense to me to have a freestanding grill next to that area.

justerrilyn, correct, the nook is not under roof. So strange. A run of hooks for towels is an interesting idea. Maybe storage for floats and pool "stuff".

Oh, I see!! Sorry, I thought it was to stay a kitchen. How about a storage and potting area? Keep the sink since it's plumbed but make it more like a bench?

If it wasn't on full view to the kitchen it would be a nice space for an outdoor shower.
