Mid-July Landscaping around new pool - Suggestions?
Comments (3)Central OK, is a very hot zone 7! I have close connections with people in Tulsa, and remember their pool construction well  I am several zones cooler than you, and I am currently nursemaiding recently purchased perennials. If I were you, I'd rather be in the pool in July rather than watering plants. Will you have an automatic sprinkler / drip system? My Tulsa connections have a beautifully landscaped home, but they've kept things very simple out by the pool. The pool went in the ground 25 years ago or so. They've always liked purchasing good quality, attractive pool furniture and, as I recall, they bought new on sale last July. Plants are durable in the beds closest to the water. One terraced bed contains several ornamental trees, perennials, and abundant draping ground cover. I'm also thinking It may make a difference on which side of the house your pool is located. Theirs is East-northeast of the house and catches considerable shade in the afternoon. Not knowing your immediate locale, I think I'd  ï Postpone plant purchases, at least until the Fall ï Purchase excellent, comfortable pool furniture with a sturdy umbrella ï Swim daily, emerge from pool to enjoy long, cold drink on relaxing chair beneath umbrella, and thumb through landscape books or garden mags for ideas  It's summertime, after all. What's your hurry! Hope this helps a little, Wellspring...See MoreNeed help with design and landscape of a walkway and area around

Comments (2)I don't consider a grill on a patio an eye sore. But a grill off the patio in the dirt or mud? Yes! Why don't you extend the patio and give the grill a permanent place to "live." Along the garage wall between the two windows at the left side seems a reasonable place....See Morejjgiles2z6bmo
