Installation and Labor Fees
Comments (9)As others have posted, it completely depends on the contract you have. When I remodeled, I had wood floors installed through most of my condo. I supplied the actual wood as I supplied all of the finishes for items that were dependent on "taste" My contract with my GC charged me for all of the materials necessary to "install" the floor as separate line items - self leveling layer; glue; plywood and cork AND an additional line item for the labor. At the bottom of all the charge (and this invoice contained several elements) there was the agreed upon markup for his GC services - he didn't markup materials I suppled like the wood but did for all of the materials he supplied and labor....See MoreGeneral Contractor Fees
Comments (9)Your contract should specify a billing rate for the contractor and/or contractor's employees performing work on site. The "contractor's fee" should cover all general and administrative activities, e.g., purchasing, accounting, scheduling, general project coordination, on-site client meetings, progress reporting to the client, etc. If the contractor is performing hands-on work that would otherwise be performed by a trade contractor, I believe it's legitimate for him to charge you for that time....See MoreBuying a new car, what are all the fees tacked on to the price??
Comments (4)Tax presumably is sales tax. Non-tax fees presumably are registration and license. Ask the dealer for details/itemization of what is Predelivery Service. That may be a new name for what was previously called Destination Charges, which is what the manufacturer charges for shipping the vehicle from factory to the dealer's lot. It may also encompass detailing the vehicle, checking tire pressure and fluids, etc. (which seems unreasonable if they're charging extra for that). Is this vehicle already on your dealer's lot, or are they getting it from another dealer?...See MoreConsultation fee $3000.00 for Mortgage Insurance claim estimates
Comments (6)In the absence of detailed design plans, paying a contractor to come up with a detailed plan to quote is common. Insurance usually has an adjustor come up with a claim through Xactimate though. It's usually very very lowball. To get the insurance payout to equal the actual damage does require a lot of work creating a detailed work estimate. Again, it is not uncommon to reimburse contractors for that amunt of work. In the absence of actual details here, nothing is too out of the ordinary. But "mortgage insurance claim department"? Your mortgage insurance reimburses your mortgage holder in case of default or destruction of the property. It does not pay you. Only standard homeowners insurance reimburses the owner for the equity in the home and it's contents. There's a lot of details lacking here. Maybe a claims adjuster should be involved. Or your attorney....See Moremushcreek
