I've quit using CC and now just turn my tv up loud. You are not the only one annoyed by it. I got irritated by mis-spelling of words that I could hear. It really never occurred to me to write the stations about the poor performance, I just rant in the living room :-)

I'm just thankful that CC exists at all, but it can be frustrating when it isn't in synch with what's happening visually or when it's flat wrong. Sometimes, it makes me chuckle when I see weird words pop up. I wish I could remember a good example to post. The other night I was watching something (not a Spanish language program) and the actors were speaking in Spanish. An English translation was printed on screen, but the CC showed the Spanish words...lol.

I gave up trying CC a while back. Seemed that rarely could the CC ever keep up with the dialogue, plus it was some times on the bottom of the screen and other times up toward the top. By the time I could focus my eyes, it was gone. Recently I checked out TCM for a good old movie and happened to find 2 silent movies. What a pleasure, and the text was in a beautiful script in a good size. I think now with all the technology available, there is no reason for CC not being enjoyable.

I stopped watching a couple of Netflix streaming shows because of CC that was so off it was impossible to enjoy. Then discovered that if I stop it back a couple of steps then put it in play again it would "reset" it, and would put it into sync.

I watch all shows with CC if available. I just accept misspelled words and lags in sync--it's never bothered me much.
