nightowlrn - thanks for photoshopping the glass mosaic tiles. I like the how the tiles look with the cabinets, but I am not sure if they really work with the granite. Do you have any pictures of neutral glass tiles, maybe in clear or light gray in color? Jodi - I found a couple of photos of the Mandorla tiles online. I think these pictures are more representative of how the tiles look in person. I hope they help with the color correction. blondelle - I just started a new thread asking about glass subway tiles. (I am sure everyone is fed up of my pleas for tile advice by now...) DH and I have been avoiding glass subway tiles, but it might be time that we reconsider. If you have recommendations for a light gray or clear/whitish glass tiles in 3 x 6 or similar, please let me know!

misstifyftl-I have camouflage througout my main floor. I had brought home so many samples and when I painted a large portion on my wall of the camo I instantly liked it. I love how it goes with silver, white, black , wood toned frames. It seemed to be the neutral I was looking for with some color. Then I got it all on the walls and thought it looked yucky. I hired a designer to help me out. I too do not like too much color. I almost painted my home RH silver sage because I love it. But in my home all of my favorite colors took on too much color and looked dark or too deeply pigmented. I've decided that my favorite colors will be used as accents and that it's not about color necessarily it's how you layer and add texture through accessorizing. I'm no designer this is just my opinion. Back to the designer-She suggested SW sea salt for my kitchen to flow with the camo, however I have an open floor plan and this was to flow with some blue and cream pinstripe curtains in the living room. Or she recomended BM silver marlin depending on the shade of blue in the fabric. So I'm assuming these colors go. Also, check out BM manchester tan and BM muslin. The gal at my local store, who is amazing with color, suggested these to go with camouflage. If you'd like I can post pics but will have to get back to you as I'm in a little hurry right now. Oh and by the way the camouflage has really grown on me. There are some times of the day where I don't love it depending on the lighting and other times of the day when I love it. Lisa brings up a good point about color usage: You can be a great gardener, as in grower of plants, or a great cook, and not have a great color sense. The clown barf pansies sound like "guy design" to me. The term is not a put down of male designers, many of whom are excellent. It's an acknowledgment that things that are appealing to non-designer guys (some of whom are female) can give the rest of us nightmares. And there are also the "differently-sighted". There are a few different versions of what eye conformation that alter color perception. People who don't see like the majority put together some things that look frightful to people who don't have the same perceptual rules.

Suggesting that none of your choices is quite right for your accent color. I’m glad you mentioned that side of the room gets West light. To balance the hot light, and work with abalone, I am choosing Valley Forge Tan for the actual fireplace and continue with the abalone on the wall, Hang a piece of art on the fireplace…that’s where the accent color should be... I don’t see a bookcase????
