OMG, so cute! We have a Bichon and a Yellow Lab and they share so nicely, thankfully.

We have strategically placed gates, too. Mostly for feeding meals, to keep them separate.

My Lab is a counter surfer, and she is a sneaky sneak, pulling food off!

But mommy, that's what doggies do! Just like a 3 year old, "If I see it, it's mine." lol.

Mimi, our two dogs are half labs, half pointers. We cannot leave food out on the counter unless we set something heavy in front of it. Wolf is the biggest culprit. Last week I heard some noise in the kitchen and I knew it was Wolf. I found him pulling a dirty dish out of the sink to lick it! lol

My dh is baking 4 pies right now for Lion's Club tonight, and he's being very clever in "hiding" them. :)

We've had dog's her size, but they simply left counters alone. It's a PITA!!

Beagles: that is so funny, but that's also one smart dog! Sasha has actually done that with one of Knight's split beef long bones that we give him. She steals them, too, but still can't figure out how to get them through that small door opening. I was standing in the kitchen the first time she tried it and I saw the whole thing. Talk about funny! What she can manage to get through the gate, or through the people gate when it's open, she stashes under our dining room table.

Jen: LOL . . . yes, that's probably exactly what she's thinking! I can just hear her now in that Sally Field's voice from "Homeward Bound".

Mimi: OMG, those are big dogs! You know, I'm coming to the conclusion that Knight may never change and we've got this gate for the long haul : ~(

Oakley: Haha! I've been trying to figure out why she's doing this, and I think you may be right: it's just a dog way of thinking!

Bpath: I know! I've been worried about that myself. His head can fit through, I guess, but that's it.

I have a Great Dane. All humans in the house have been trained not to leave food on the counters lol. Entire meals have disappeared in seconds!

My golden still owes me $20 bucks for a hunk of aged gouda she stole.

We cannot leave food out at all. But if I drop a treat on the floor, most of the time my dog will wait and ask for permission via eye contact. But the counters? No way. Try as I might, he has been rewarded too many times-- I blame the kids and their unattended food! I am working on training him for counters, but I imagine it will be years, if ever, before we are successful!

Counter surfing was the most challenging behavior our Aussie Bella had during training. She once ate half a birthday cake I made for DD 's boyfriend! But, she is a very smart dog. She has learned not to steal food from the counter, but empty wrappers, like butter or paper towels used in food prep? They're hers! She won't try if there's still butter in it, though. But, the funniest thing is to watch her and our other Aussie try to fit through the dog door at the same time when we yell, "Deer!".

Adorable! My three younger ones (6-ish, 3-ish and 2-ish) all love toys and bones and share them nicely, but they are always waiting for one another to drop whatever they are playing with or chewing on, even if they are identical, so it can be snapped up and carried off by another one. Seems the grass is always greener if it's in someone's else's mouth.

That is so adorable! Did she ever make it through the door?

I'm jealous because my dogs have never liked toys, one did like them, she ( a jr) would shred them to pieces in about 20 minutes.

The other ones (beagle) idea of a toy is a road kill rabbit he would bury and move around in my mulched beds. I'd find a leg sticking straight up out of the ground, go get a shovel, and it would be gone. He was watching and moved it.

That happened a lot.

So she has a collection. Doesn't everyone? I add to each of mine every chance I get.

Sasha is adorable! My Murphy has one toy that he loves to play with. We call it Brownie puppy and I think I have four of them in total but he has a favorite one. It's the oldest and saddest looking of the lot.

My KoKo only had one toy that she ever loved. It was an elephant that trumpeted when she shook it. We called her Elly-phant. KoKo and I would play for a long time with Elly but at almost eleven KoKo just doesn't enjoy shaking the stuffins out of toys.

Our "Sammy" named Callie, is a very good Girl! She LOVES pasta noodles as a treat. Just ONCE though, couple yrs ago???, she JUMPED onto the counter!!! My DW was so stunned that all she could do was laugh! Sammies can be pretty powerful for their medium size....but...uffda! That's quite a leap! If Callie shifts into "4WD"-mode, I think she could work as a tow-truck....;-) She only weighs 50lbs!
