"Coho, it just seems strange that both of your computers would have this problem at the same time, and since the CDs work ok it just seems to point to the DVDs as the problem. I have found that some of the blank cheaper brands of DVDs do seem to have a higher failure rate when they get older. I no longer store anything that I want to keep only on DVDs, but make sure I have copies on external hard drives." As do I. I would much rather send a DVD to Alaska family than my external drve. Guess will reinstall Windows in about 2 weeks unless someone comes up with a better way. Thanks

Owbist Thanks for the reply, I installed the DVD drive to read DVD's and I already had a CD Burner installed first, I believe the Drive I installed is a Combo drive, CD and DVD, and I have Tried all of the Following in this drive. Music CD, DVD Movie, DVD software and even a Software CD all with the same result, it just spins slow for a couple of second and stops, and if I click on the Drive in My Computer, it will say install Disc and it tries to find the disc with no luck I will also try the Deep Burner

PLEASE help me solve it so I can have this hood. We can use an 8" duct for this. MA said it will affect performance at the higher speeds, but with 1200 cfm already overengineered, I can live with that. That means we can fit it into a 10"-high soffit. The hood is 18" and the range is 36", which means the bottom of the hood will sit only 32" above the range. It's 24" deep, which I think is okay since the Lacanche juts out past 24" (28.25" is the depth with the spacer, I think). Is 32" too low? I asked the GC the other day about minimum clearances and he said that it's a minimum of 36". So today when we discussed this and I asked him to talk to the fire inspector before I order, he said that if it doesn't work, we'll figure it out later. Ummm, no. Oooh, good news...I'm on the phone with DH, who just talked to MA and they can make it 14" high instead of 18", which means the bottom will be at 36" so we should be okay. Now...I know that it's better to have the hood extend over the sides for max capture. The range is almost 40" wide. We were planning to order the 48" but I'm wondering how often I'm going to smack my head into the corner of the hood. Should I order the 40" instead?

Well, I replaced my pre-November ISOs with the newer ones. . The biggest benefit of the new installation files is that it allows Windows 10 to be activated using a product key from Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1." ---------- If I'm reading that right, that would explain why my older ISOs would not accept my Windows 7 key when doing a clean install. Also, again if I'm reading correctly, the newer ISOs should accept any valid 7, 8, 8.1 key. The dark blue/purple image I posted above was obtained through a search. The screens I was getting are the white ones. Why the difference? I don't have a clue. This is a more recent image using the 64 bit ISO I just downloaded: Clicking "I don't have a product key" allows me to continue with the install.
