I needed a silver set to make my laundry room look great. I went with white. When that washer died, after 8 years, I went with silver. The room looks so much better. But, if I had to go with a mix so what?

Personal choice. My machines are both white, but they do not match, and I do not notice at all. Rococogurl, your laundry room is so stunning, I don't think the machines matter...or maybe I was too busy admiring your rotary iron.

I wanted white for my Little Giant, but since I got the Stainless Steel dryer first, I had to get the SS washer (I prefer matching). I would have preferred Lotus White, but the Stainless Steel looks great.

One thing with Miele Stainless Steel...it is real stainless. So invest in a good stainless cleaning spray and a good microfiber cloth ;)

While Stainless Steel or Silver, might sound cool. But... I think the look of White is almost timeless, yet...that's just my opinion.

I'm not exactly a interior designer. But... I say, go with whatever you like the most. Don't rush into any decisions, and spend as much time as you want before buying.

Larsi, I was just curious. You have Electrolux wave touch W/D and Miele Little Giant set. Usually which washer and dryer do you use when doing laundry? Thanks.

This is the first time I've gone with anything other than white so I'm just not trying to think ahead, lol.

Larsi, I remember you really like the Electrolux dryer. But you still sell it? How is your Miele dryer compared to Electrolux's? Do you have two 220V outlets on the wall for the Miele washer and dryer? Thanks.

We have two 220V outlets on the wall. I LOVED my Electrolux dryer. I only sold it because it did not match my Little Giant washer at all...size and colour.

The Miele dryer is quieter, and it reverse tumbles from start to finish, whereas the Electrolux waits until the last 4-5 mins to begin reversing...but the Electrolux is larger and faster than my smaller Miele. My Miele dryer still handles CA King sheets and blankets with no problems, it just takes a little longer. Not too bad, just about 15, maybe 20 mins longer. Miele washer and dryer are MUCH quieter than Elux. Both recommended.

Jane, I bought Whirlpool Duets 95HE series in Chrome Shadow:

They were on sale for about $1800 for the set, without the risers, which I didn't need or want anyway. Note how they semi-match the existing cabinets in the laundry room anyway. I love the blue lights and ability to adjust my laundry cycles. Unfortunately, I'm very hard-of-hearing and considering setting up a baby monitor in order to hear the end-of-cycle chimes since this set doesn't seem to have a sound adjustment like my old set. It's advertised as:

My Electroux is not very loud (even on loud).

My old Whirlpool with it's mechanical (is that the right terminology) buzzer could wake the dead. I would hear it from the basement all the way up to my room (finished attic).
