Will & Grace fans....fave shows?
Comments (7)I have a 'moment' to share for fans of W&G. We went on vacation to CA in late June. One of our stops was LA/Hollywood. On our last day, we went to the Los Feliz section because we have a 17 year old son and we'd heard there were interesting shops that he'd like. We did find a great vintage clothing store with an amazing t-shirt selection. Anyway, we had lunch at a funky diner called Fred 62 -- our guidebook had said that Drew Barrymore sometimes goes there, so I was actually looking for her. (I get very star struck!) So anyway, when we were done eating, we went to use the restroom. They had a single unisex restroom in the back of the restaurant, so while DH was in there, DD and I were standing in line waiting and we were practically leaning against this guy who was sitting at the back corner booth with two other guys. I was eavesdropping and they were joking about "having a power meeting at Fred 62..." and clearly were talking about a "project" they were working on. So finally I actually looked at the guy who I was standing 2" from (I mean, I was looking into his ear canal, I swear) and it was Sean Hayes!! (Jack from W&G) I just about wet my pants right there. DH came out of the bathroom and I pushed him back in, went in with him, and started whisper-screaming and jumping up and down, saying "OMG, it's Jack! it's Jack!" Of course he thought I was an idiot. After I came out of the restroom I walked by him again, trying not to stare, but then I stood by the door of the restaurant staring openly until DH basically dragged me out. It was so exciting for me. Actually, it was a pretty amazing afternoon. In the next shop we went to, we saw "Janice" (Chandler's annoying girlfriend from Friends), and then at Starbucks, we saw Ryan Adams (musician) -- not everyone knows him, but DH, DS, and I are fans -- and my son talked to him. I made a fool of myself with Ryan Adams too, but that is another story....See MoreWhat goes well with brown pants/slacks?
Comments (48)Hey Bumble, just wanted to tell you that you were right about the pricing on the sweaters above. Quality wise I would say the regular price should have been between $60 and $85 (about what I paid). The sale price should have been less. No way are the sweaters in a quality range of $164 regular retail as stated. Saying that though they fit short wasted me perfectly and have a casual sliming elegance about them. They also flow nicely and are made well. The fabric is very light though, really too light to call it a sweater. If I did not live in Florida I would be disappointed but would say they are perfect for mildly cool evening here. In short, I do not feel I got ripped off but I did not score the deal of the century. I would give the sweaters 4 1/2 stars out of five because they fit my needs. The gray FDJ jeans were a big hit and are the most comfortable best fitting jeans I have every owned in my life. The "find your fit" check list on the FDJ sites was perfect for picking the right jeans for body shape. My husband was oozing with complements over the gray jean gray sweater getup. I'm seriously thinking of springing for the FDJ dark wash jeans at the high regular price...even though I have never been much of a jean person I love the comfort and fit of these. At 52 I think the splurge is worth feeling sexy in jeans....See Morenew shirts shrunk!!!!
Comments (4)it's partly the public's fault, for wanting lots and lots of clothes, new every year. Two stories: I read of a woman whose daughter's were amazed when the exchange student they were hosting from overseas arrived with one large suitcase. She had appropriate clothing for every event she attended. Clothing used to be very expensive in France, I had colleague who used to send things to their relatives there. Story next: a woman who came of age in the late forties/early fifties had a mother who sewed a lot of her everyday clothing. Each year, she asked her mother for some pretty cotton dresses in the latest styles. Each year, her mother would buy some nice wool, and make her a couple dirndl skirts or jumpers. When she finished high school, her mother pointed out that she already had nice clothing to wear to work. Her friend's cotton dresses were worn out. Some of it is that manufacturers are cutting corners, but some of it is that we have come to value newness and quantity over quality....See MoreDress Pant Yoga Pants?
Comments (33)I can't find them online, but I recently bought several pairs of what Macy's advertised as 'leggings' but which are pretty close to what's being described/discussed here. They were in the regular sportswear-not activewear-department with all the other pants, ie not with the exercise clothes. Anyway, they are made of knit fabric, band waist and cut to fit snugly but extremely comfortably. They've got pockets on the back and came in both ankle length and a longer boot cut style. I bought several pairs and love them for work. I always wear a top untucked over slim fit pants anyway since I work in a generally business casual office (university advisor/admin), so they are perfect. The only problem I have is that I accidentally hemmed one pair inside out. So now they have cuffs which really isn't working for the look I'm going for LOL. Once I fix that, good to go....See Morediane_nj 6b/7a
