I Really Hate Those Pesky Rabbits
Comments (13)I've tried everything on them, they think egg based spray is a condiment. LOL The neighbors complain if there is an odor (like I enjoy the chemical smells coming from their direction). As they build more houses, the rabbits have nowhere to go. I feel for them but there are literally dozens of them jumping, playing, eating & doing what rabbits do best (make more rabbits) in the unfenced yards. The way they are grinding away at the new clover, I wouldn't think there'd be any room left for my Peas. I'd like to let the dogs in the garden, but I tried that once & they flattened way more than the rabbits ate & didn't catch them. The bobcats mostly stay in the woods, every once in a while someone will see one. Bears, on the other hand, visit the trailer court about a 1/2 mile from me on a regular basis & were on my friend's car 2 streets behind me. Most people around here haven't seen them. I wish they'd eat the rabbits & deer! LOL Linda...See MoreDo I need these add-ons,plug-ins, updates?
Comments (9)the first ones you mentioned yes they get installed when you do updates of those programs like java. and MS is guilty of the .Net one you can google that and find some info there. I have open it online use it on occasion but if you do not use it then you can remove. Maybe if you go to the page for it you will remember it's benefits and why you got it. If you have removed Adobe Acrobat Reader you can remove Air also from what I remember. I think it is needed for some types of applications to function properly, similar to flash. If an app you use needs it you will probably get a pop up saying it is needed. you can have more than one pdf reader but you would need to set which is default to be used, or yes you can remove Adobe Acrobat reader I have removed it from all of mine and use only pdf xchange. IE8 is now a much more ready to use than it was early on so sure you can update it and it is more secure. Internet Explorer 8: Worldwide sites...See MoreLayout help please!! Island out. Peninsula in. Comments (8)I like LiveWireOak's layout with the sink arrangement. Now two people can access the sink at the same time, and the DW is easily accessed being placed to the side of the sink. However, I wouldn't want to live with a fridge off by itself in that far corner and would put it back where you have it in your layout, homebuyer. My suggestion is that you reconsider putting the wall oven under the induction cooktop. I have that situation using a Bosch oven built in under a Bosch induction cooktop and have found it to be not bad at all in actual use as I had previously been concerned. Granted it's not quite as nice as the oven at eye level but not a bad compromise. This thought is coming from someone who had two built in wall ovens for 35 years previously so I know the different trade-offs between the two arrangements. The only caveat with the Bosch wall oven under the Bosch induction cooktop is that the countertop height should be raised one inch to allow the recommended air space allowance between the two appliances. However, I found the higher counter to a more comfortable working height for someone like myself who is 5'4". That leaves the question of where to place the microwave and would depend upon your frequency of use and preference. I would put the pantry in the far corner either with, without, the MW. Anyway, it looks like you're coming into the home stretch and wishing you the best with your final layout....See MoreThose pesky fake beams...
Comments (9)Could we see more photos of the entire space, including the floors so people can make a "holistic" suggestions. Especially include photos of the flooring. Wood and precast fireplaces are quite characteristic of MCM style. Your house is at the tail end of that style and really looks great. (I don't like the whitewashed beams in your inspiration photo at all--a true "remuddling." I suggest that you leave the beams because they are from the period and add richness to the room. What's a little "off" is the stark white of the ceiling unless you decide to paint the room a white that harmonizes with your fireplace, the star of the show! Consider removing some of the frou frou on the fireplace to let its make its own imact. May I suggest that you really research the MCM, not that your room has to be a shrine to it, but that fireplace is great and appears in many MCM homes. If you are thinking about adding MCM style furniture--Craigslist, West Elm--are good sources, you'll see that MCM styles often have wood trim sofa and chair legs in just the kind of wood your beams are made of. All these things can enhance the MCM vibe....See Morejdez
