Oatmeal in a rice cooker

It seems many cook oatmeal in a rice cooker. I would like to know if you were using steel cut oats what setting would you use? I don't have a porridge setting. My settings are white ,brown or steam. I know there may be other better ways but this is for DS who likes to make his own meals but wants everything quick and easy and super healthy. He has been making pancakes the night before for his breakfast. He puts in steel cut oats which has not been soaked or cooked. I can't imagine what that tastes like. He uses the rice cooker constantly for rice and if I could tell him, how to do his oats I think his pancakes would com,e out better.
