There is a hybrid of S. leucantha named 'Phyllis Fancy'. It is listed at 4-5 ' but growing conditions can be a variable when it comes to height. It certainly looks like your plant.

Sorry Ken, I am not sure what you are asking. I have so many salvias and sages in my garden and I do not need to crush them to get their scent. Just brushing against them will do the trick. In this case I could crush it, stomp it, or put it through a blender, it smells like nothing or gives off no scent.

Just an fyi, but not all salvias have a discernible fragrance. And some have a reputation for having a very musky, funky aroma, not at all pleasant.

i guess back in the day.. i just grew the plain old red annual salvias .... and not en masse ... maybe the purple/blues when they became the rage ...

i simply wasnt aware there were any fragrant ones ... the ones in the pix above.. look more towards the herb family type... rather than the neat little soldiers i used to have ... obviously it is a giant family ... with many sub related kin ...
