Edison/ filament light bulbs?
Comments (13)A decent amount of work light is about 800 lumens minium. The Edison incandescent averages less than 350 lumens. The Edison LED isn't much better at 450 lumens. Great for lanterns or exposed bulb application. The Edison Vintage LED temperature is 2200 which is slightly above candle light. A typical A19 LED 60 W emits 800 lumens and it's dimmable. The A19 LED temperature is 2700. You're probably going to have to sacrifice "light" for "looks", or "looks" for "light"....See Morepaint color choices??
Comments (12)I think the best way for you to find a light gray that works in your space is to do a little research on colors you might like and then google their undertones. Select a couple you feel might work and sample them. Your Edison lighting, window lighting, etc will all play a roll if it stays a tone you like or turns pinkish, blue in tone or green...... The undertone of your gray needs to work well with what you have going on in the room. You don’t want the undertone & elements to clash. Recognizing this & working with the undertone can make a chameleon gray work beautifully for you. BM Silver Chain or Gray Owl may be a good two for a little research. If you have access to Dunn Edwards or Woodlawn Colonial Gray by Valspar. They both look taupe or beigey on the chip, but on the wall they look like a nice lighter gray on the walls I've seen them on. You might google some of these. I understand that Miners Dust is very popular for a lighter gray. All paint has undertones. Sampling is the only way to know: AM to PM, light on by night and windows open day.... check the paint samples as the day goes to night on all wall do a sample poster board of the ones you choose, not one wall could pull violet for example and the rest be good....See MoreMixing Light Temps-Edison Bulbs and Soft White
Comments (2)How is the small sitting area illuminated? Does the light from the kitchen wash over it as well? I'm asking because from what you've described it looks like the sitting area and the entryway are pretty close together. If they're really close, just match the same colors. If you feel they're far away, then create a contrast with whatever is in the sitting space. I woudn't go for Edison bulbs or any tungsten bulbs. I personally prefer LEDs. Save costs and you get a wider range of brightness options compared to vintage ones. Hope this helps!...See MoreEdison light bulbs
Comments (3)I've seen these bulbs in several places and homes and I'm not sure why anyone would use them. The appearance of the bulbs when on is a bit stark and the quality of the light they produce, because of the color, is particularly poor and unpleasant. I wouldn't use them for feature lighting or as a highlight element either....See Morenamarie
