Polyblend grout renew is available at Home Depot. It comes in about 40 colors and cost about $12 a bottle. You would probably be able to do your whole house twice with one bottle. I helped a friend do this to their kitchen sink tile and floor tile (using two different colors) and the stuff was fabulous. It really improved the appearance of both dramatically. Better yet, the grout is no longer getting dirty like all the old grout used to. If this had been available (or if it was available had been widely known) I suspect we would all still have tile countertops rather than granite… be sure to follow their prep instructions...as it is drying it looks very uneven in appearance, don't panic, when it is dry it's very solid color.

Agree with Sophie and Practigal-you cant refinish it like a marble floor but you can can make it look brand new and or better.

The tile and grout look quite soiled so you would need to do an intensive cleaning. You may be able to restore the surface to look like the day it was installed. If you aren't happy with the grout color check out this company - This is what the pros use-its easy and durable. We have been using this product for over 5 years now-you can make well over 275 colors. You can always hire a pro to do this for you and just deal with the ongoing maintenance.

@Practigal will this just clean up the tile and grout or can I actually change the color of the tile which is what I would prefer. @ Stoneshine I've been cleaning it for the past 3 days this is what I'm getting it pretty much looked like this when I brought the house 5 years ago, the house was built in 2001 and this is original to the house and I hate the color of the floor but I can't afford a "pro"...I've been cleaning it with baking soda a peroxide. Thank you all for your help I can always get great suggestions from this blog!

You are past the point of baking soda and peroxide-those products wont emulsify the soils. A high alkaline cleaner along with a grout brush and scrubbing brush will clean out the soils. Then using a wet vac to help dispose of them. If you cant find products let me know and I can recommend some for you. You cannot change the color of your tiles but you needn't live with a soiled floor and grout lines.

Personally, I don't think your tile is bad at all. I have horrible tile myself, so I've been researching affordable changes & I discovered you can actually paint your tiled floor. Rust-Oleum has the kits. Although, I think your floor looks kinda rustic, so maybe changing cabinet paints, again Rust-Oleum , which I just used or just enhancing your accents! I wouldn't worry about that change on your floor. 😉

I am reading you can refinish the color of the tile by prepping it and then painting them. With the correct products, I understand it can be done.
