Sunnyborder, mxk3- thanks! a2Zmom, the yellow fluffy thing is Thalictrum flavum ssp. glaucum. I have 3 belladonnas of which I had Piccolo and Volkerfrieden for several years and Atlantis for 2 years. Piccolo stands exceptionally well(stormproof). For the first time this year it got mildewed so I was forced to cut it down. But normally it is breathtaking .Of the elatum ones I have some I bought and many from seed. The bought ones are mainly of German origin and were created by Karl Foerster in the first half of the last century. I chose those which stand up without staking. Jelitto Seeds had seed from the best cultivars for many years, that's where I bought the seed. But I do not know if they still sell them. I only keep the best seedlings, and throw the floppers out. The English cultivars are mainly good for cut flowers, their florets are too big and too heavy to stand up in the garden , and they need special staking. North53, now that you mentioned this: resounding YES! And FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!!! I wouldn't know, but I observed a flock of sparrows landed on 2 plants. There was so many of them , that some florets broke! I immediately checked what was going on, and I could not notice any worms, so I assumed the sparrows just ate the buds for fun. Now I have to check again! Thanks to both of you. Mikie, I should have thought of that! And Damccoy, I am glad to have my attention drawn to Default Programs. I had never even noticed it was there. And wouldn't you know, on booting up this morning and going to My Pictures to try out Mikie's suggestion, I found that ALL the pictures had reverted to jpeg, but I had to go through the Open with>Choose program (in spite of the program I wanted already being in the list), and then MGI Photosuite and clicking the box for always opening this type of file with this program. And that did the trick. I have no idea why my picture files revolted yesterday, nor why rebooting fixed them. (Should have tried that first, I can see now.) My virus problem has been fixed, but in the process, a few things seem to have gotten changed. I wonder what new puzzles await me!

Hey everyone, thanks for all the help and suggestions :) I've checked with photobucket and I've only used 6% of the bandwidth. They did email me a few months ago to say I was at 80% of my usage...and that's when I took off a lot of pictures. Since then, they've increased their storage capability (even on free accounts). The only other thing I could think of is that I hadn't downloaded the new version of Adobe, which they recommend. I did that this morning, restarted the computer...and still no pictures :( For now, I'll just post links (which are working) and see if I can get more info from photobucket. Thank you all and I'll let you know when it's fixed.
