Backyard landscaping and hardscaping help

In the process of completing an in-ground pool project (rectangle 20x44). We are looking for hardscaping and landscaping ideas. We have a 3' stamped concrete border which we intend to have surrounded by grass.

Multiple loads of top soil are scheduled to be delivered to level out the slopes around the pool. The columns are being built to hang the gates and complete the fence. Once that is completed the final inspections will be scheduled.

The current concrete patio has settle back toward the house and must be removed. We installed slider french doors to exit directly to the back yard. There is also a slider on the other side with a set of steps ready to fall at any minute. Should we go with 2 sets of steps or one continuous set? A squared patio or one with curves since the house and pool are rectangle? Raised patio with steps at the far end to go to the pool or steps out the door with a sloped patio to the pool?

Ultimately we would like to have a seating area and a covered bar area. We do plan to move in the next 5-8 years, so resale value is a consideration.

We will also need landscaping around the pool, patio and equipment.

Several companies have come out to look and have given estimates but they really have not offered any ideas. I do not want it to look sloppy and thrown together. Our current patio and steps are a hazard and need to be replaced ASAP. Due to limited funds we will have to make improvements in stages.
