I am hoping they do the right thing .... either the wording is a mistake and they do right by me and change the wording so the referrer and referee know one must get a credit card when following the link to get the credit, or they don't and consider it an acceptable business practice to dupe customers -- existing and future.

For now - I would advise avoiding a company with such business practices until it is resolved.

UPDATE -- Wayfair credited my account with 10% of the purchase. Props to them. Thank you Wayfair. Now, please change the referral email so others don't do what I did. Is there a way to edit my first post and title? Or, how can I get it deleted?

problem on 6/16/16, advertised price on HKR8259 $1,195.00 when added to the cart $2,695.00. For five days it has been this way and I have spoken with several staff (including a specialist). Everyone offered it to me at a lower price than the cart however, nobody would honor their advertised price. Here I am six days later and it is still advertised for $1,195. BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!!!!!

I don't think that's a bait and switch. I think that's called a mistake. They post thousands of prices, they can make a mistake once in a while.

If the price is the same, which it still is after 7 days, and they were contacted seven days ago (which they were), it's not a mistake. When I spoke with them yesterday, the same thing occurred, they offered it at a reduced price but not the advertised price. They Wayfair has had ample opportunity to correct a mistake however, it's apparent that they have no plans to therefore, a bait and switch is the only conclusion.

I had a problem with Wayfair when I ordered my backsplash tile. On January 15th I placed an order for my backsplash tile and they gave a ship date of January 26th. It was a sale for 1 week on that tile. On January 27 I noticed the tile had not been shipped out yet so I called Wayfair and was told it was back ordered and It wont ship until April 30. I was not to pleased about it but I really wanted the tile and it was a great price 50% off than any of the other stores. So I decided to wait for it.

On April 30th I received an email stating the tile was discontinued and I will not be receiving it. I was furious that I waited all those months for it and now I wont be getting it. I was back to the drawing board trying to find a tile that I loved.

The middle of May I noticed they were offering the same tile I ordered but at the higher price. I called and asked about it and they told me that it was available and they would be more than happy to place an order for me. I explained that I had previously placed an order for the tile and If it is available I would like to purchase it at my original price. I was told that is not possible. I escalated to the issue to a manager and he told me the same thing. I could see I was not going to get any resolution with the manager I told him I was not interested in it at the higher price.

I did received an email from the manager a 5 days ago stating the item is no longer available and they will be removing it from the website. It took them a month to figure out they no longer have the item. The item is still on Wayfair.

I used to love ordering things from Wayfiar but this issue put a bad taste in my mouth and I wont be ordering from them any more.

YOU'RE RIGHT, THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME. I ARGUED WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE AT WAYFAIR AND THREATENED TO GO ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER. THEY FINALLY GAVE ME THE DISCOUNT. ON ANOTHER NOTE, I FOUND OUT THAT WAYFAIR DOES NOT REPORT TO THE CREDIT BUREAU PERTINENT INFO. I NOTICED ON MY CREDIT KARMA ACCOUNT THE LAST TIME THEY REPORTED WAS IN AUGUST. SO I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THEY REPORT TO THE CREDIT SITES BUT THEY ONLY REPORT THAT "THE ACCOUNT IS CURRENT"OR NOT CURRENT. THEY DON'T REPORT THAT THE ACCT. IS LOWER OR HIGHER, OR YOUR ON TIME PAYMENTS OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP YOUR CREDITORS SEE YOU IN A BETTER OR WORSE FINANCIAL STATE. SO THE REPORT OF CURRENT OR NOT DOES NOT REALLY HELP. I WAS SOOO PISSED I WROTE THE BBB AND HAS MY COMMENTS POSTED AND SIGNED MY NAME TO THE POST. JUST BEWARE!!

I ordered a bird cage from wayfair a couple years ago. It was poor quality and a couple bars were bent. It was a $200 cage. I called wayfair to complain. THey were very understanding and refunded the money. I asked how to get the cage to them and they said that I could keep it, and suggested I donate it to a bird rescue. I was very impressed. I ordered two more cages (different brand) last year. They arrived rapidly and in great shape. I just wanted to post a positive review because I have had such a great experience with them.

Beware of buying from Wayfair. That company is a scam. I had a very bad experience from them. BEWARE of that company.

Odd to revive a two year old post with no information as to why it was a scam.

I had a great experience with Wayfair. They shipped something and the shipper wouldn’t carry it to my apartment but left it in the lobby of my building. Wayfair customer service gave me. $70 credit to pay for the cost of having someone bring it into my unit which made my doorman extremely happy when I overpaid for putting it on a dolly and bringing it up on my elevator. LOL.

I was extremely impressed that customer service was able to resolve it quickly apwith the first phone call. I also used their optional service to assemble the bed and they were also first rate.

We purchased two very nice office suites from Wayfair. Beautiful..top quality. Good price and delivery. Couldn’t be more pleased.

I just ordered a couple cabinet knobs from them through ebay. Never again. Took them over a month to ship. I emailed to inquire (politely) about whether they had been shipped around the two week mark...was told they would refund my money. They did cancel the order, gave me a full refund, and shipped the knobs two weeks later anyway. I think it was an accident, and I like the knobs, especially for free, but, would be hard pressed to order from them again. Kinda odd way to conduct business.

I have ordered a few things with no issue, however when I ordered my daughter’s desk from them before Christmas it said it would be delivered by Dec 15th, but then a few days before that date I got an email saying it was backordered and wouldn’t be delivered until Feb! I was frustrated because it had been several weeks since I had ordered it, had I known it was back ordered I wouldn’t have bought it. Plus, they charged me for it in Dec! I called and said I wanted the charge reversed off my card, I wasn’t paying for it until they had it to ship. At first they said no, it was their practice to charge the card when ordered. After a couple of conversations they did finally reverse the charge.
