I like the richness of the brown. The other two look too pale in color to me

I love the shape of #3!

#1. Keep natural materials, i.e.:leather, in their natural tones. (IMO)

#3. it still reads as a neutral but gives a bit of life to the room. I feel the brown is going to be too heavy with the other paler elements in the room. Keep the dark color in the wood elements.

ruby, where did you find those ottomans. I am also in the market for cocktail ottoman but square shape, not having much luck.

Rose - the ottoman I'm looking at is at CR Laine and is a rectangular shape but they have several square ones as well. Lots of fabric and leather options.

Agree with #3 and repeat color elsewhere in the room.

I am leaning toward #3 as well. Like Tib, I usually like leathers in natural tones. This company has some lovely leather colors so I'm finding it very tempting. I am also considering that the ottoman will likely have a tray of some sort living on it so it won't be too much color. I'm waiting on leather samples to make my final decision. I really appreciate the feedback!

I prefer #1, but I think that's a personal color/style preference talking. I think all three of them would work. If you want color, I also prefer #3. It's more muted. 1,3,2! Pretty room!

Ottoman #3 is meant to curve with a Bergere (?) chair that curves out in front and would look silly with a straight cushioned chair, sorry. I would choose #1, neutral, hides dirt from shoes and easy to clean.

I may have caused confusion with my ottoman examples! These are just to guide color selection - shape will be rectangular most similar to #1 but tufted (although square is growing on me).

But as for color, it seems there is no love for #2 and kind of divided between #1 & #3. Thanks for the help!

I also thought that the curve in #3 Brett, 29x39x16, would require a chair purchased to echo the style. Since you can have any ottoman made in any of their fabrics or leathers, I'd go for either #1, Yates 47x29.5x18.5 or #2, Nell, 46x46x17 in the color leather of your choice. The sizes are all quite different, and you mention tufted leather in your first post, but only #2 is tufted.

The Nell is square but may be too big for my space. I will have to lay it out in the space the next time I am there (and before I make my final selections).

If color is a stretch and you're concerned about tiring of it, I'd choose the brown ottoman. Then go for color in pillows, throw, and tray. : )

Definitely #3. That's a beautiful color, and the ottoman is a perfect spot to do something a little bit fun and different. It's not the commitment it would be on a large piece of furniture.

nosoccermom - are you suggesting new colors for consideration? My head might explode :). I am already thinking "do I want tufting or not?", "what about a sunbrella fabric?", "do I really want a cocktail ottoman?", "is this the right size?". Just a little neurotic. I have a huge work event this week so, like when I had a dissertation to write, I am doing EVERYTHING but writing and preparing. Sigh...

Yes (sorry, or the brown). What color is in the chairs? Just seems to me that a darker color grounds the whole set up. I'd get different color pillows to change out.

And just to add more to the confusion, have you thought about an ottoman that uses a Kilim or other rug?

I love that kilim ottoman and have been looking for one! Did you find that on a site where they are currently available?

The chairs are what is best described as griege. The sofa is a white slip covered piece. The ottoman will live in between these pieces.

Well...I couldn't stand it and tracked down the source of the rug ottoman. It's Lee and runs over $2000. Ugh...I so love these! These are a great size as well. The High Point Market starts this week so my local Lee dealer is going go look for these. Apparently, they will also make them using COM - rug and that may be a way to control the cost a little better. Let the obsessing begin...

Rubyclaire, how handy are you with DIY? I've seen bloggers make their own kilim ottomans. I've noted this because I come across so many lovely, worn kilim rugs that are 5x7 or so (too small for my space) but with designs that would be perfect for an ottoman.

I agree though the Lee one above is very special.

Thanks lisa - I am not all that handy but love the idea of finding my own rug. These don't look all that challenging. But I've said that many times before and then had to abandon a project because I'm all confidence and little real talent.

But hope springs eternal and I will investigate!

It looks to me as though ottoman #3 is curved on two parallel sides and is not designed specifically for a bergere chair.

Google image "antique rug ottoman.". I'd be tempted to try it with an old couch table and a not-to-expensive rug for starters.
