I bought IKEA rational drawers on sale/return for $5 each and using them for my toekick drawers. I'll put one together tonight and measure the inside for you. I think they're about 3.5".

Could you also kindly measure the outside height / face height. May I also ask : are the glides side mounted or bottom mounted?

i ordered an unfinished drawer from Barker to save some $. I ordered the 3" high drawer since I have a 4" toe-kick space. Fit in perfectly. The inside space is about 2.5" given the recess. I mounted it myself to the cabinet using side slides (the cabinet was not installed yet when I mounted it in so it was easy to do)

At first I thought you were talking about drawers incorporating the toe kick, which is what I did. They are 11" tall inside, and allow for a four drawer stack. Either way, it's nice to make use of otherwise wasted space.

We only have one, but it's just the same height as the "regular" toe kick, whatever that is. I want to say 4 inches. It is under the sink and holds a really skinny step stool, an idea I got here to make sure I could reach the tallest uppers.

I plan to put all my linens, ramikins, candles, platters, chargers, seasonal dishes in there since they are infrequent used.

Thanks Mushcreek : I had seen lovetocookfor6's toekick incorporated drawers which are like yours and seriously considered doing that, but finally decided against it as in addition to maximising space, the other reason for doing TKDs was to have a higher platform off which to pick items rather than bending down almost to the floor to do so - even when storing taller items.

Mine is 4" from bottom to top with a little over 3 1/2" of usable space from bottom to top closing clearance.

I currently have a ton of extra storage bags, tin foil, plastic wrap, etc. in it (it holds a lot) but plan to use it for a step ladder from Williams Sonoma (soon as I get around to that).

@gemcap ok I finally put one of the IKEA drawer together. It's 3 7/8" from bottom of slide to top of drawer. Inside the drawer, it's 3 5/8" H from top to bottom.

I spent $7 for the 24" drawer and $5 for the 15" ones.

You will need the toekick panel to make the drawer front.

I also just found 4" drawers yesterday at the local Habitat. They are plywood with birch veneer and fully finished. Ironically it was donated by the "custom" cabinet maker that my next door neighbor used for his $30K kitchen cabinets. The cabinet guy bought them from a local mill.

The taller drawers were all taken by some GCs already but I was able to snag several 36" drawer for my larger cabinet toekicks.

The drawers were $2/each and will cost a total of $8 after I buy the glides at $6/each.

These are much more budget friendly toekick drawers for me vs the quotes of $120-450/drawer depending on size.
