Home Depot/Kraftmaid want to be paid in full
Comments (12)i have ordered KM replacement doors from both lowes and HD. lowes was a little better, but only because the guy at the counter was a little more knowledgeable. one replacement door was unsatisfactory...no problem. since i had opened it right in the store, i just left it there and they credited it back to my card. we had to order replacement doors not because the original cabs were bad, but because they came from the outlet and some specialty cabs (super susan) came with matching finish but different style doors. anyone want some extra KM doors? i have also ordered other items from HD (doors, windows, etc) paying ahead and not had a problem. well, not a problem returning them anyway. i suppose it is a problem if the item HAD to be returned ;-) BTW, although buying "local" appeals, i have tried it and i don't like it. our local lumber yards have been very dismissive of my ordering items. they assume i am just looking (since i have those 2 x chromosomes), they balk at special orders, they would rather speak to my husband, they don't like it that i entered the store with my kid, etc. one of our HDs (the good one) is staffed by formerly retired skilled tradesmen with excellent manners. i like it there. they will work with me, the non contractor diy woman. have fun with your new cabs. i hope you have few or no problems! kren...See MoreKohler and other Home Depot exclusives
Comments (4)The pause button on the handspray wand is very handy, and you don't need to touch the handle as often. You could get a single hole (K-596) and be done with it. The single hole Simplice faucet has a much smaller diameter handle "tube" and that makes it lighter looking, not as heavy as having two pillars on your counter. You don't need to install the plate under it. As to whether the parts are all the same, ask Kohler. Email them. You may be surprised to receive more than one answer, from different people, who contradict each other. Try the email. Commercial practices keep on changing, so the only way to know if that particular model being sold today has cheaper innards is to buy it and open it. Or ask and hope they know the right answer. Nonetheless, the faucet is a good one, generally speaking, and I congratulate you on your choice. If you get the black one, it will match the hose. the consensus in the kitchen forum is that soap dispensers are not all they appear to be. They break often. Ask Kohler if they send free parts for this. Their warranty is not good. You can get a $20 dispenser and consider it a dispensable item. Pun. Simple Human has a portable dispenser with a bamboo cladding around it, and it looks good. (key words = "Simple Human bamboo push pump"). So, whether you get one that goes into a hole in the counter or a countertop one, consider it as temporary....See MoreKohler and other Home Depot exclusives

Comments (3)My advice: none of the above. Imagine going with one of the Big Box dudes only to find out you wasted money on something that is cr@p. Now picture your reaction when you find that out. Now imagine having to pay for it all over again. Now imagine you find out the timing works out PERFECTLY to the arrival of the CoreTec...and if you had JUST WAITED you wouldn't have lost all the money on the first install. Remember: floors go in LAST! They should be completed the week before you move in....See Moredcward89
