Where did you buy your counter stools?
Comments (11)Overstock here as well. I went to Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn to do the sit test first, though. It's not the same as sitting in the chairs you're going to buy, but it helps you understand what you want. I wanted simple metal bar stools, but the ones I liked at C&B had the rung too far back and were very uncomfortable for my legs. So I ordered similar ones from Overstock with a good rung configuration, and they're very comfortable. The welding looks like it was done by a kindergartener, but oh well......See Morequartz countertop with movement: did you choose your slab?
Comments (14)I had a great Fabricator that let me come to the yard and help place the template where I wanted it. I really wish I had done that. I got Cambria Bristol Blue, and while I'm happy with the stone itself, the fabricator turned out awful, and I didn't expect that until they walked in the door with the stone cut. They seemed so professional during the templating. I think that if I'd pushed to see the slab, it would have put them on notice not to try to get away with less quality....See MoreIf you're considering quartz counters read this...
Comments (12)I do wonder if there is any product out there that would not produce pages of negative reviews if every single user were polled. When researching appliances, there was a website available for posting only negative reviews about products. I think we partially based our choices on the brand that had the least number of pages of negative reviews (22 or 26 or so, compared with 77 or more for some of the others we were looking at). Having said that, I am so very glad we changed in the end from quartz to granite. I didn't consider Caesarstone, but did get samples for comparison. But I can understand why the building supply company I borrowed them from got out of the quartz business (maybe counters altogether). I love my leathered granite and am thankful every day for making the choice we did. I didn't see anyone answer the question about the other brands. I did see the thread on Silestone today, with mostly negatives, particularly them not covering chips in their warranty. Sounds like Caesarstone is also unwilling to honor the warranty for any reason. I can't understand how a company that markets a product expected to break down so soon can stay afloat, or at least continue to sell that particular product....See MoreWhere did you put your counter top seam?
Comments (27)"The rounded edge on the inside of my sink and the two outside side edges cost a total of $150 more." This is why I keep preaching that fabricators should sell this option instead of that gawdawful ugly cheap "pencil" edge at sinks. One chip, and that's "when", not "if", and you've paid me nearly $300.00 to fix it on site. Pulling the faucet and sink, profiling and polishing a proper round over, and reinstalling the sink and faucet to reduce the risk of future chips could be $500.00 or more....See Morepractigal
