Who you order from does make a difference

These are two different blooms of Marijke Koopman, the first taken in 2013, later in the season, and the second one, a much more mature looking bloom from one I planted this season. To me the blooms on the one I planted this year have been mature looking from the beginning. The first one was ordered from a company that ships bands, the second one is from Burlington. I ordered from Burlington several months in advance, and she had the roses in stock that I wanted, she told me this would give them more time to mature. I'm using this particular variety as an example, because it is the only one I ordered that I had previously had, but had no idea how much difference it would make in the blooms themselves. I could say the same about Roses Unlimited, because the blooms all look like what you would expect them to look like on a mature plant. This has mainly been a learning experience, and I know it does make a difference who you order from.
