Are you quilting this weekend? Oct. 18-20
Comments (28)Happy Anniversary, Valerie! Linda, that was great you were able to go be with your daughter when she needed you... Yes, Marsha, good thing I didn't take your advice LOL It was good advice though :o) Hope you get a quilty day soon. The host may have had some machines in her car, but I intercepted before it got that far LOL At the very least, she would have probably sent her son home to get one if it was necessary because she only lived 20 minutes from where the retreat was. We just got a mass e-mail again thanking everyone for coming to the retreat and stating that the feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we raised about 3000 dollars for the school house. The host e-mailed pictures that she had her son take... Btw, you can see in the picture of my quilt block above where I had the tension issues (the pink fabric puckering), but I did fix it after that... Just a few more pictures and I'm DONE, I promise... Another shot of the whole room... the lady who had the same Bernina as I do was the 2nd one on the left side of the middle row of tables... and my Brother is two machines down from that, but the lady was ironing at the time, so she wasn't there... The lady in the back is the one who borrowed my Brother... I guess I wasn't the only one who put their quilt around their neck! Here's one without the quilt necklace... And that's all, I promise promise promise! :o) Hope everyone has a lovely rest of their weekend....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Oct. 25-27
Comments (25)Valerie, I tried doing the binding by machine in the past, but I didn't like the way it looked.... I only used the straight stitch though (but the machine had 294 stitches.... I don't even know how many the Nina has).... Maybe I'd like it better with decorative stitches. I should google some pictures of binding with decorative stitches and see how they look... I just don't like crowds and lines so that is the primary reason I avoid going to the Food and Wine Festival... it was fun the first time! For anyone who follows Bonnie Hunter's blog, did you see that beautiful vintage two tone New Home Paragon straight stitch machine that one of the ladies who took her class had? It was one of the most beautiful machines I think I've ever seen! I think I've really got quilt fever now because I'm starting to notice quilt patterns in floor tiles!...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Oct.20-22
Comments (9)We are leaving for Arizona tomorrow, but I am packed, so I am hoping to sandwich and quilt a little Halloween wall hanging. I bought a panel at Mary Jo's on my way to retreat and cut it apart and added some stuff to it. I am hoping to get it done to give to DS & DIL for our granddaughter. If I don't get it done, I will at least get a start on it! We are heading out to celebrate MIL's 93rd birthday next week, but will be back Thursday. Sue...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (9)I have not decided which path I will take today. Right now I am watching the birds at my “feeder tree,” a large white spruce tree in the front yard. I have several fat-quarters washed and dried that I want to press and the first “Baby Bud” pieces ready to sew. I want to go to Jo-Ann’s to get two more ArtBin containers, but that is about a 90-mile round trip. I try to limit my runs “to town” to twice a month or less so I may order them from Amazon. I was in town last Friday to have the Bernina lady adjust a spring in my walking foot. On the way home I hit black ice, spun all over the road, narrowly missed an on-coming car, went airborn, and landed at an acute angle down an embankment. It turned into a comedy of errors with other vehicles sliding off in the same area. No one was hurt; my muscles are bit stiff from the impact but are doing fine. I just don’t feel like getting back in the saddle today. We’re expecting a bad snow storm beginning tonight, so that’s pushing my plans even more toward “stay at home and sew”! I’m also doing de-cluttering, purging, and re-purposing in the sewing room. I could stay busy in there for weeks! :)...See Moregeezerfolks_SharonG_FL
