Amck your kitchen is gorgeous!! I love how the finish looks with your cabinets and counter! It feels very warm, which is what I'm hoping to do. Can I ask what your counter material is? It doesn't look like it has any dark in it, and that's my primary concern. I am wondering what the antique bronze would relate to in my kitchen since my counter won't have any dark.

And while I like polished nickel, I more importantly want a feeling of warmth. The kitchens I love mix counters, etc, which I'm not doing. So Im trying to decide if I can pull off polished nickel without it looking too stark. Katie OB's kitchen is the perfect harmony of what I want, but she mixes counters, etc.

Here is mine....the cabinets are SW Nacre, lightly glazed. The light fixture is antique...hardware from Hardware Resources.

Ok i love that you're going with brass as I'm coveting it and everything in our home will be chrome! Trying to squeeze in brass here and there. Have you looked at the Boulevard pulls from pottery barn? Also schoolhouse electric's hardware in natural brass is stunning.

Ok, in case this helps you narrow down your choices: we mixed countertops (so not exactly the look you want), but our cabinet
hardware and faucets are polished chrome and the pendants over the island and a nearby wall sconce are antique brass. The mixing of these finishes is one of my favorite things about our white kitchen. Helps to warm up the space, I think.

Klcharles love your wood counter. I think the warmth of the brass plays off beautifully off the wood.

Thanks for your kind comment on my kitchen. You asked about my countertop. It's a granite called New Golden Beach. I think it's a misnomer because it's cream and taupe. There are no gold flecks or veins in it at all. There are a few dark specks that I think are garnet but read as a dark reddish brown. I suspect this granite goes by different names with other vendors because Google searches for it bring up mostly Golden Beach which is quite different.

You said you're concerned antique brass won't work because you don't have dark shades in your stone. I think that the brown tones you'll have in your wood stained pieces would work to tie it all together.

I remembered that the kitchen I liked with white inset cabs and polished nickel hardware was Kompy's. She is a design pro who contributes here. I haven't been able to find a link to her kitchen reveal. Maybe someone else here will be able to find it. It struck me because it had a warm feel which, as you know, is tricky to pull off with white cabinets & white metals.

Think either metal would work with what you have going on. Brass does have a warmth to it. Here are some example from our 1930s house which I've decided to keep (which will take some paint stripper some other day...) It looks nothing like what is sold as blackened/aged brass in big box stores. And nothing like doorknobs from the 80s/90s.

We repainted our honey oak bathroom cabinets in BM Navajo white. I had originally thought to use brushed nickel knobs, but the antique brass just looked so nice with the creamy white shade of paint, we chose that instead. The antique brass just gave it a warmth that the nickel didn't. I know brass isn't the trend right now, but I do love the look paired with cream cabinets.

Your kitchen is exactly what I needed to see! Not only is it beautiful, but exactly what I'm trying to accomplish. My light fixture is a very hard color to explain. It's kind of gold but has silvery undertones? I feel like antique brass may actually end up being close but not close enough and stick out worse than using polished nickel. I really, really love how warm your kitchen feels. Since my island is a warm wood I'm going to go for the PN.. Though I still love antique brass and it's in a few other light fixtures throughout the house.

One regret I have is that my door knobs are just the cheapest ORB we could find. My hope is to slowly replace them with antique brass knobs. Yours are absolutely beautiful. I did find ONE cabinet knob that looks like true antique brass, unfortunately I felt like some of the other options just didn't match it well. They were more.. Yellow?
