Is Turk's Cap bad for dogs?

My two dogs have been eating the leaves of my large Turk's Cap for the whole summer I think. The largest dog has become about 90% blind. The vet has recommended a canine opthalmalagist but we haven't gone yet. The vet found no other reason for the blindness.

I have googled the phrase and it came up with one site that list all the common names for it: " Common name(S) Aconite, friar's cap, friar's-cowl, soldier's-cap, turk's cap, helmet flower, monkshood (garden m., yellow m., western m., wild m.), wolfsbane, bear's foot." and also that it can cause heart problems and eventually blindness, then death.

Oh yes, my turk's cap is the red one shown in this site.

Another site:

Foraging Texas: Turk's Cap

www.foragingtexas.com/2008/08/turks-cap.htmltells how to cook the leaves & how good the berries are. What should I believe? Maybe I haven't researched enough.

Any advice?
