Newbie about to enter year two and ImPatient...who is with me?!
Comments (4)Congratulations, and I hope Spring is all that you anticipate. Here it truly has not rained for 13 months, and now they tell us it probably will not rain at all for another 9 months, so I am hunkering down making plans to try and just keep the roses I already have alive through our hot, always dry summer. Not pruning, mulching everything deeply. Watering a bit for now (as normally we get about 40 inches of rain every winter, but so far have .85 inches with none in sight), but they say we will be on serious rationing as of April 1 (they are not doing it before then because one year they started rationing on Feb 1, and it really did rain hard every single day that Feb, and the water utility offices flooded, and they looked like fools). My DH has figured out how to put a huge water tank in our ground floor basement right under the bath/shower in the floor above, which will catch all of our shower water. Then he will connect a long hose to the tank so that I can water the most vulnerable plants enough to hopefully keep them alive. I have planted a lot of South African bulbs and plants in the last few years, but even they are used to wet winters. They go dormant in the summer, which is good. So, not looking forward with pleasure, but I am very glad someone is! Jackie...See MoreRefinancing...be ready to be patient!
Comments (9)Boy can I relate to paulflyboy. I went with a friend of a friend and will never do that again. He is a mortgage planner and financial planner. I started the refi process in November. The paperwork is still not done and I finally told him forget it, give me all my paperwork back and I will shop around for someone else that will work for me. I gave him all the information in Nov that was on the checklist to refi. I didn't hear from him for about 3 wks and then finally emailed on an update. Oh he told me he was working on it but all his appraisers are booked. So I finally found an appraiser on my own who charged 300.00, I think this is high. The appraiser told me he would send the appraisal to my mortgage planner. That took about 3 weeks. I kept emailing him and asking him about my refi "We are waiting to hear back from the bank....blah...blah....blah. Finally on Febuary 18 he asked if I had time to meet with him and I told him of course, I was tired of waiting. When I got to his office him and his business partner talked about financial planning, nothing about my refinance. They want me to put my extra money from my refinance into a financial planning savings plan. I am like no way I just want my refi done and I will decide what I want to do with my money. They talked to me about 2 hrs and the next day sent me a questionaire about the financial planning. I told him I am not interested I just want my refi done. Long story short he called me today and kept pressuring me into his financial planning. I got fed up, hung up on him and wrote him an email to give me all my paperwork back. Here is my email: I need all of my paperwork back from you as soon as you are available. I am going to shop around for someone else to do my refinancing. It has taken way to long and you keep pushing me to do your financial planning and I am exhausted. Last time I refinanced it did not take this long and I got answers. When I met with you on Wednesday I thought we would be discussing my refinancing but I feel pressured into your financial planning and I am not happy right now. That was end of letter. Now at this point I am so frustrated I don't even want to start this process again so yes I can relate to the refi nightmare....See Morerecipe: plz help with cooking for picky skin cancer patient
Comments (0)I am new to this forum & just happened to see this subject. My mom is caring for her brother who has skin cancer on his left jaw & no teeth. He is SUPER picky and it's not just about what he wants to eat but what he is able to eat. I literally made a half page list of the foods/spices/sauces he likes. Mom is frustrated & panics every day for lunch. Is there any place online I could type in this list of foods & get a list of recipes perhaps? Trying to help mom as much as I can but she hates cooking new things, afraid of messing up and really just wants to feed my uncle a good hearty meal that he'll actually eat :-D I am not afraid of experimenting!...See MorePatients and manners
Comments (27)pekemom, I heard the same thing from the nurses. People complained they couldn't do this or that because "It hurt too much" and weren't willing to try. Then they wonder why they stay in the hospital so long! If it took them a bit longer to answer my call button, they always came in the room and said "Sorry it took us so long to answer you" and then took care of whatever I needed. It wasn't so much of an excuse as a statement. I always replied that it was o.k. and I understood they had other folks some of whom were worse off. I know they appreciated that. To all those that asked, yep, I'm getting better. Tuesday is the big day. After a cyst (gram?) test, the doctor will then remove the catheter. I can't wait!...See Morepekemom
