Just an update: The tree has been growing vigorously but did have a little branch die back last winter, that I may have pruned prematurely, so it looks a little thin at the inmost sections but it's coming back strong. The sucker I left to grow is almost the same diameter and size as the main tree and is starting to show white bark. It's on the sunny SE side of the main tree. Leaves are still green and I'm attributing that to timely rains and week long of mid 80's f that came early last week. Picture direction from other side of trunks.

Hi Connie, I've been giving some thought to #3. Yes, it is possible that those hostas don't get enough sun to bloom. I do seem to recall very sporadic flowering late in the season (zone 5). I've only really started enjoying hostas in the last 3-4 years, so I am lacking in knowledge. I am going to thin #3 and plant in a couple of different places. Thanks for your response, as it gives me something to think about.

Collards would be my guess just from the photo but that depends on the variety too as they have several different appearances. A taste of the leaves should give you the answer assuming you know what each tastes like. Dave

There are a lot like this. To possibly narrow it down, we would need to know it's height, bloom size, whether it blooms early, mid or late. Even then it will be tough unless someone happens to have it.
