Good thoughts and prayers for Aunt Audrey

I just heard from Aunt Audrey today, she has been in the hospital for a few days. All those years of smoking has caught up with her. I hope this will be a wake up call for the smokers out there.

She misses all of the KT gang, and is working on getting better.

I knew she was in the hospital but didn't know the reason. Sending lots of prayer and good thoughts.

Been there, done that, twice. First mom fell and broke the right arm in 2000, exactly the same place you describe, then fell again in 2004, and broke the left arm, in exactly the place you describe. It's the first couple weeks that were the hardest, when it still hurt her a lot. The bones actually healed up and were stronger then before she broke them. It really helped to remain positive and cheerful and encouraging at all times, and not dwell too much on the injury but use the time for quality visits. I used the opportunity to spend more quality time with Mom, watched comedy movies with her, visited her friends with her, read magazines with her when we went to her doctor, brought her treats, took her fun close-by places like garden centers or the mall on a slow weekday morning, just included her in my errands when she was well enough to go out, kind of turned it into a vacation of sorts, and it really was ok, for her and me both. It turned out in the long run she was having tiny strokes, that is what was causing the falls, and she died of a massive stroke in '05. So it's good to check on what might have caused the fall, so you can keep her as long as possible...anyway, we had that quality time when her arms were healing. Those times are actually pretty precious memories now.

Hi all - I just popped home from the hospital. Jack's surgery was a bit quicker than the dr thought. He was in surgery for about an hour, recovery and now in a room. He is not too happy about the whole thing, and just wait til he realizes they shaved part of his head. The dr indicated that the surgery would be quick or very long- so I guess it was quick. Not sure that means anything really. Pathology results will take a couple of weeks (upto 3) to get back. Jack may even get out later today but since he is going to his dad's (not his mom's place) I kind of hope they keep him overnight. (Dad's judgement is not always the best) Thanks for the good thoughts so far. Now I guess we wait and see for a while more. janet

veleen and Vince my thoughts and prayer are with you. Veleen my Mom had the same eye problems be sure and ask your Dr what thing you can get from the government for help with your eyes. My mother rec books on tape as many as she wanted a month they send you the machine and the tapes free and you mail them back free they send you a list of all the books available all cities have this you could also check with you library and they would know what all you have to do to get started. It would be a good pass time for you both and then you could tell us what books to read. You will get you eye drops regulated and they pretty much can help you with the drops but be sure and take them I have had 6 weeks of treatment for my back on a spina table and it has done wonders for my back and also for my husband back. Check into spina tables with your Dr and I think you will find y our back much better. I will keep you in my daily prayers and hope to see you when I come to Westlake OH to see my big Sis I know Donna oh is also near there would be great to give you all a hug in person!!!!!!!!! praying for you now imabest

Thanks everyone it has been very difficult.My brother is still in Cleveland, they were on vacation at their camp. Bringing her back to Pa. Funeral Monday. I still do not want to believe it. hen my neighbors Aunt Passed away today. It was expected. So another funeral on Tuesday. Will keep everyone updated as how the family is doing. Just pray for strength for my brother and family. Thanks you all are the best
