A Little Off Topic, But Still On Topic, Too

Today was Darrell's last radiation treatment. As I did 3 years ago when I underwent them, I took cupcakes for the techs and the doctors to celebrate. I took them a dozen each of Dark Chocolate Amaretto and Cherry Chip. I couldn't find my favorite recipe for the Dark Chocolate Amaretto ones, but this substitute recipe satisfied them. They all remember me from when I had the treatments and told me I didn't have to wait for last treatment days, once a week would be fine. Love those people.

Last treatment is something to celebrate and if Dark Chocolate Amaretto cupcakes won't keep the good luck flowing nothing will!

Last year the HG had to go for 2 hours daily for six weeks. The staff treated him so kindly so I in turn provided them with goodies. They were very appreciative to the point where it seemed like that didn't happen often.

bcskye, you and your husband have been in my prayers, I'm hoping you have only good news after this last treatment.

The cupcakes sound delicious, and I know they were appreciated.

Congratulations to him and good luck! I meant to do something for staff that took extra nice care of my mom in a hospital stay last year, and being me of course never got around to it. Nice that some people actually do something for their caregivers, I'm sure it's very much appreciated.

The link to it is also on the 'our' Name That Plant front page - a link to 'share the season with our Garden Galleries' or something like that. It is a showcase of photos but I agree with WW, there should at least be a link to the forum names that are represented in the galleries, back to the forums where the discussions take place. Otherwise just gloss. I'll have to check back to see if my post ever took. I was going to download a photo, but I noted it said from your computer, not a host site and it could not be more than 500kb, and I'm not donating any of my photos to be owned by GW if I can help it.

I would file a written complaint with the county health department. I'd probably make sure to get a signed statement acknowledging their receipt of it. Here's some info for you on how to handle things. (OSSF stands for On Site Sewage Facility.) This info was taken from the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality. (Link below) "How do I file a complaint against a property owner who is operating a malfunctioning OSSF? Complaints regarding malfunctioning OSSFs need to be filed with the local permitting authority. If the local permitting authority is not resolving the complaint in a timely fashion, notify the permitting authority's supervising authority (county judge, county commissioner, mayor, aldermen, boards, water program manager, etc.). If the complaint is still not resolved within a reasonable time, contact the appropriate TCEQ regional office." Here is a link that might be useful: Texas Commission On Environmental Quality

I like Athan Paul Pavlos. It is unique, to me anyway. Aidan is very popular, Sex and the City made that happen. It is a really pretty name but very trendy because of that show. Athan might confuse some folks and make them hear Nathan, but that shouldn't be too bad. Aris could be confused for Paris, too. Have fun choosing, we finally decided about 3 weeks before my lady was born! We had to have two, we didn't know the sex, Sylvia and James :) Christy (mama of Sylvia :)

Congrats to your DH and wishes smooth sailing going forward.

I did something similar when I finished my radiation treatments. I took them a selection of bars. Like Cathy's experience , they were so appreciative . Amazing people doing amazing work.
