Any Thoughts on American Leather brand?
Comments (15)American Leather furniture looks beautiful. It felt comfortable in the store. We loved the contemporary look, so ordered a leather sofa sleeper and power recliner in 2015. The comfort of the recliner is average. We've not been happy with the way the seat leather has expanded and wrinkled, but are living with it. The sofa sleeper is super comfortable and relatively easy to set up. That said, the sofa itself is VERY uncomfortable. Even if you have longer legs, you slide forward when seated. Not only that, the cushions actually slide forward too. After people have sat on the sofa, they get uncomfortable. I have to readjust each of the cushions, pushing each cushion back into place. The quality of the leather has remained very nice. While others have commented on this, we have never had a problem with the sofa cushions sagging or flattening. However because of the continual shifting of the cushions and the body sliding forward when seated, I would never recommend this product. We are very sorry for spending so much money for this inferior product and can't wait to get rid of it....See MoreBlack Toile Cottage Master Bedroom....Cameron
Comments (52)les - Brought the tuffet up this past weekend and I love it! It always surprises me that just one piece added to a room can pull a space together so much. It is shaped liked a cushion-cut diamond - square top that angles down on the sides. I have it set on the left side of the rocker, sort of under the loon print. It doesn't crowd anything and the square shaped top works with the boxy shape of the rocker, while the curved feet mirror the curves of the handles. The stained feet make it not too matchy-matchy. Since my nightstands, headboard & chest all match, I think it's better not going overboard with more black wood! The rocker was placed there because it gives a view right out to the mountain and brook, but I will move things around as you suggested, just to see. I also like the idea of a pillow with the big button. Maybe I'll leave the tuffet black, and just cover the big button with a coordinating fabric (?) And I'd still like to get another rug for the sitting area, though I'd probably move it out in the summertime. A friend who came for dinner on Sat., who had never seen the cottage but had looked up this post, brought me a Wall Words saying as a hostess gift. She made it clear it was up to me whether I wanted to use it or not. The script is black and it reads,"Prayers Go Up, Blessings Come Down" which she thought would look good on the wall behind the bed. She said she thought the phrase worked especially nicely because the wall is angled "Up" and that coming upon this property was a real blessing. Thoughts? oceanna - I can just feel how badly you want to dress that room! I now it probably looks sparse, but if you stood in it I think you would feel differently. My aim is to have it be an uncluttered space where my eyes are drawn to the outside views and sounds. I want to appreciate the way the sun glows off the wood floors and highlights the knots and texture of it. If this were in my home here, in a city neighborhood, I would be with you(and Cher!)100%, though! And I appreciate the tips on covering an ottoman. You inspire me to give it a try doing it on my own!...See MoreYour thoughts on mix and match a leather chair and sofa...
Comments (8)I matched my two couches but then have several other pieces that are totally different. I never tried to match them because to me each piece has personality now. Plus in your case the salesman has told you up front the dye will be different enough that it will look like you've tried and failed. In your place, I would go for maybe a pattern with a little of your saddle brown in it...or maybe a totally different colored fun leather in say red?...blue? which would pull in those framed pictures on your wall. OR!!! maybe even "cow-hide"...something FUN!...after all it is a gameroom!!! My 2 dark brown couches and my 2 rockers with their light brown seats and "cow-hide" backs......See Morethoughts on mixing leather in living room
Comments (13)nhbasket, very nice room, ottoman fits in there perfectly. My DH also was not happy at first with the ottoman we have downstairs but has definitely grown on him. When we brought it upstairs as a template for the size we need around the sectional, he was anxious to put it back downstairs. The couple of days we had it upstairs, he missed putting his feet up on it. lascatx, love the last one you posted, unfortunately no shipping to Canada, that is part of my problem, but you nailed the look and feel I am looking for, Glass table top but visually heavy looking. The others were too contemporary for me. We do have Ashley furniture here, which I completely forgot about, will check out their tables....See MoreButternut
