How do you harvest very mucky/gooey worm castings

Hi,

I have been trying to vc for about an year now and usually harvest every 3-4 months.

When I harvest the castings are too gooey and sticky and it takes a very long time to separate the worms from castings.

My worm container is a plastic flow through container with plenty of air holes. It's cut open from the bottom and the bedding is held together using PVC pipes so that water does not accumulate in the bottom and VC castings can be easily harvested from the bottom.

I only feed vegetable scraps to my works. I have attached picture of what my castings look like.

Is there an easy way to vc so that the castings don't come out so wet ? I tried adding more news paper to absorb the moisture but was not able to solve the issue.

Thanks,
