Well, I've got raised beds that total about 200 sq feet. If I were watering using my 1 gallon watering can, I wouldn't be wondering, because I know how much to add to a gallon of water. The problem is that this attaches to the hose, so if I put 10 oz of liquid emulsion in, how do I know it's not applying 4 oz per gallon at the start and 1 oz per gallon at the end? Maybe the lady is right and the attachment really does "take care of it". If that's the case, I do see where you're going. My square footage would calculate out to about 16 oz of fish emulsion. I put that much in the basin, assume the sprayer is making sure the right amount is getting mixed with the water and apply it evenly around my beds until the basin runs clear. Here's a follow-up question: If you all aren't using this hose attachment, how do you apply fish emulsion fertilizer? I suppose filling up my gallon watering can 8 times isn't all that much work. But I wonder what people do when they have twice as much space as I do? I think I'd get carpal tunnel after a while. LOL

Try these fertilizer siphons. If you don't already have a check or anti-siphon valve going to your spigot, get one of those backflow preventers that screw on to the spigot like this to keep anything from backing up into your drinking water if there's a drop in pressure for some reason.

Aliska, I have two Hudson sprayers. I don't have as much a need for them as I use to but I use them occasionally. What I like about the Hudson when I bought these ~10 years ago was the wand construction and the availability of replacement parts. I have not had to replace anything but I have had to take apart the sprayers to clean gunk out of them. One finicky part about these sprayers (I don't know if it is particular to Hudson but I would think not), is that the path to the nozzle must be clear. If I had dribbly non-controllable patterns I knew I had stuff in the path, most likely the wand, near the nozzle. At that point I take off the screw on nozzle completely and poke at inspect the liquid path. Typically there is something in there and then I use a paper clip to try to clear it. Then, before replacing the nozzle, I give a quick spray to ensure I get two solid streams from the tip and also to clear out any other potential clogs. I screw the tip back on and pump again. I have found that when full, you need to pump more frequently. As it gets empty, you do not have to pump as frequently. I also found that after use I have to be careful opening the sprayer because the pressure release when unscrewing the cap will send the liquid up at your face. Now I lay it on its side or point away from and look away when opening. Also opening very slowly, like a soda bottle that you know is shaken helps control the pressure release. I also try to limit the number of pumps I put into when I know I am getting near the end of spraying. One trick I have thought of to release the pressure that I have not done is to turn the sprayer upside down and spray. The liquid in the pickup up tube will spray out but after that you should just be spraying air. I'd open up the nozzle a bit also to speed the process if you do that. Good luck.

Your assumptions are correct. The dilution rate is (setting)/gallon. So a setting of 2 ounces will put 2 ounces of your solution into every gallon sprayed. So for me for instance (a random example).. Say I had 7 plants that I want to receive 1 gallon each of fert. MG states a dilution of 1tbs/gal. So I add 7 tbs of MG to the container and fill it with water till it's at the 7 ounce mark. Set it to 1ounce. (I have tested my water pressure and know that 1 gallon is sprayed in 21 seconds)... So now if I water my plants for 21 seconds I know they are getting 1 gallon of water with 1tbs of MG (in the correct dilution)... This thing has been a lifesaver in time. Jay
