Repair plaster bathroom wall.
Comments (3)I'm not sure what's behind the wood panel; I'm assuming something used to be mounted in the wall and was removed, so it's probably just empty space. The other side of the wall looks normal, so no clues there. I'll drill a hole to find out. The wallpaper will be removed; I don't know how cleanly it will come off considering the condition of the plaster behind it, but we shall see. Beadboard is a good option. We'll consider it. Thanks everyone for the advice :)...See MoreRepair backsplash - exposed lathe plaster/water damage
Comments (1)To get access to the defective lath & plaster, you will have to detach the cabinet and move it out of the way. But, before you move the cabinet, you will have to turn off the hot and cold water, and then disconnect the plumbing, as necessary. There should be shut-off valves under the sink. It is possible to remove the soft and cracked plaster, and replace it with fresh plaster. After moving the cabinet back into place, you can put up some new tile, and do a thorough job of sealing the tile and cabinet, so water does not get to the wall. All of this is doable, but it sounds like quite a project. The kitchen sink could be out of commission for a few days......See Morerepair plaster behind bathroom tile
Comments (6)you can clean it out well id use diluted bleach and scrape all the loose stuff off, vacuum /dry it out. go back to home creepshow and buy a small tub redgard and paint it in there with a chip brush and use mesh tape (as long as the backing is solid in there). slather it onto edge of tile and cover the flat surface & Let dry. Go to a tile store or online and buy a larger travertine or similar ceramic tan/brown soapdish big enough to cover it and thinset it in one fell swoop right over the hole and damage topically with a medium bet mortar also from creepshow its called prolite. Total cost maybe be $100 and youre elbow grease? im not a creepshow fan nor custom guy so much but its ez and 1 stop for you. otherewise tear the whole mess out ! this one is 8+ inches how bigs the hole?...See MoreHelp with Shower Wall Tile Repair - Plaster Mesh
Comments (5)BS. It looks like it's not in the wettest part of the shower. You seem to have broken the cement board behind. You could try to patch in a piece of cement board, after cutting out the bad stuff. Then scrape and apply some new mortar. On the other hand, I would be tempted to use mortar and a roll of mesh to replicate the cement board, removing loose chunks of cement board, but leaving the mesh in place. Either way, you'll have to pay attention to making a flattish surface for the final application of mortar and tile....See Moreduaroger
