Where to buy Alpaca topiary
Comments (5)Okay I think I know what you are referring to. What I meant by framed topiary is really a form of wire art which are filled with sphagnum moss and planted with various types of plants. Check out this website: www.greenpiecewiretart.com They produce wire frames to hold topiaries. Unfortunately, they don't carry the alpaca animal frame but they will do custom orders. This place is in Canada. I'm sure there are others in the US who do the same thing as well. Other than this method, the other way to create a topiary from a shrub for example, is to gradually prune and trim plants into a shape that looks like the animal of your choice. This unfortunately will take a very long time (years) to do and if there are places that already sell such topiaries, it would be very expensive. Ianna...See MoreDying Eugenia Topiary - Please Help!
Comments (3)If this is in time: if there aren't any drain holes there still has to be some sort of 'drainage' provision. This may mean a deep layer of pebbles. If you root-pruned as well as removed the centipedes - it helps to reduce the amount of foliage as well so the leaves aren't losing water quicker than the reduced roots can supply it. If there's no drainage - it could be drowning. Insufficient air, soggy soil, rotting roots - especially if the bugs were feasting on the roots and left open wounds there. They aren't great in fierce and direct sun. They'll drop leaves. And they drink heaps - so reliable water will be needed. For the pot - allow an inch all round between the root ball and the rim of the new pot. Allow a couple of inches underneath the present root ballfor fresh mix to grow down into, and a minimum of half an inch between the top of the soil and the rim of the pot. And excellent drainage: if there's only one hole in the pot then it must be not less than an inch across. If you have it in plastic then be sure to have plenty of holes in the bottom of the pot. At least six at about three-eighths across. If you want to use a cache pot then put the actual planting pot inside the cache on feet or a layer of pebbles so the pot never sits in stagnant water. A little water in the bottom of the cache will improve the local humidity for the plant but you don't want it staying there long enough tp either go green or smell....See MoreMy topiary Teddy Bears.
Comments (10)Mark, I am not going to post pictures. This is a project which I have tried to describe with some detail and will leave the artistry for others to create. Coleen, Yes, you can use a small leafed ivy plant. Select one that has mulitiple stems (leaders). Plant and sew the root end of the ivy into the animal's back....but leave the growing stems of the ivy sticking out. At first the ivy will need encouragement to grow and cling to the fabric. This is done by securing each stem gently to the fabric with a needle threaded with your fine brass wire. A simple stitch will do the job. From that point on the ivy roots will cling to the fabric tightly. You will have to continue directing and pinching the ivy growth....See MoreHelp w/decorating an outside Topiary - Pictures
Comments (27)Oakley, yes Whippets are athletic, as they are closely related to greyhounds. Just half the size. A lot of folks don't know what they are, or think they are skinny ugly dogs! I can understand most people thinking a hunting dog wouldn't be a good house dog like Gracie is. Misconceptions abound. Great Danes are one of the best APT dogs you can have! LOL, who'd have thought with their size. Whippets are champion bed-bugs and couch potatos by the way. If any of you like seeing neat dog pictures (with some cats too) here's an album of whippet photos I've saved as they were so "typically Whippet" and fun to see. These are NOT MY dogs (well actually, two are) tho I do have an album of my dogs and cats on my home page y'all are welcome to see too. Enjoy! And to keep this Holiday related, a couple are ready for Christmas even. LOL hugs, Karen Here is a link that might be useful: cute whippets...See Moredoctorroo1
