looking for: porcelain tile that looks like white marble
Comments (7)An in person visit is still the best way to find what you need. We do not sell online, only in store. Most contractors only purchase things that they can see, feel, and judge their quality. We only sell first quality goods, which many internet sites do not. Yes, I'm a ProSource employee, but not on the flooring side. I'm a KD at one of the stores. Almost any real in person flooring store can get you loads of choices that an internet presence that concentrates on closeouts and second quality cannot. Comments (38)Kathy, I am sure the picture will help get some additional suggestions. You have a very nice space but it is darker (like mine!) and I think a few other items to lighten it up would help here. It looks like your cabinets are hickory. In addition to a backsplash, may I suggest some new rugs that have no pattern or motifs in them? You have a lot of grain (and I think it is beautiful) but you need something solid in spots to break it up. I think your your instinct to stay away from any orange or red color is good. Some solid dish towels are a little but nice inexpensive touch too. Lastly, is it possible to add a light over the kitchen sink to give you more light, particularly at night? You already have under-cabinet lighting and that is good here. I am not so good at picking colors or tile materials myself. I just made a big mistake in a bath myself. I would say you need to use a light cream tile as others have suggested....See MoreChicago thin brick floor and I need to know a sealer to use.
Comments (4)Bump. Brick is a specific type of flooring that is traditionally VERY porous (like a hard sponge). It takes plenty of work just to keep it looking "not bad". I'm not well versed in this type of floor (I know enough to stick with brick-look porcelain). These bricks will need be viewed as stone floors that are SUPER porous (think chalk) that require +++treatment possibly many times per year. I know the old-timers used to WAX their brick floors....keeps them shiny. But it is PLENTY of work. Like 3/year type of application type of work. If you want shiny, I think you have to remove and replace with porcelain tiles that have the same look. Sorry but brick is porous = non-shiny....See MoreLooking for Brick look tile
Comments (5)Again, thank you for all the pictures. I have seen several of the tiles in person, many look so tile like, or pictures of brick, and so much grey. My memory of a brick floor is my grandmothers porch which was dry set reclaimed brick, set side by side, with no grout, sand swept over with lots of sand, and then some finish poured and spread on top. It was practically smooth. That was the old time southern way in the 50's and before. Many places that sell this look only have pictures even if I go in person. I am looking for something that can go from the interior out onto the pool deck and is not blazing hot to walk on in the Houston climate....See MoreHuntingflower
