All brick backsplash or brick and what?
Comments (3)I live near Boston and there are some amazing brick walls used in the decor of beautiful homes. This picture popped into my mind. I think the entire wall in brick would be beautiful. It would be even nicer if you could find rustic, used and antique reclaimed bricks for that natural texture. I would not worry too much about clean up unless you are terribly messy cook. A good old toothbrush and clean any spatters that might on ocassion show up. hope these ideas help. ~boxer Souther living magazine (Makes me think of a home in boston) Westford Home Film North Florida blog Dallas Kitchen Artisan Kitchen and Baths Pitut John Lewis Kitchens AJC Home Finder Historic homes Heart Stone Builders Country Living Magazine TONC Not red brick but lovely never the less with the hood against the brick wall From Small kitchens design blog...See MoreZ-brick backsplash--any way to cover?
Comments (8)Most of the bricks came off as whole pieces and the ones that didn't came off in large chunks [never had any that broke into little pieces and went all over the place] just make sure you put down plastic or newspaper to help with cleanup. The key is to put the flat side of the chisel against the wall and go even with the wall when possible, try not to dig into the wall. If I remember right I started around 9am and was finished by noon and that was on a L shaped wall, so I had several bricks to remove. If you were going to paint you would have to replace the drywall but since your not you should be fine. Try on a couple of bricks to determine where to put your chisel [right side, left side or middle] to get the best results, mine the middle seemed the best. It just takes some determination and keep focused on the final result which makes it worth doing....See MoreHelp with countertop and brick backsplash
Comments (4)The brick backsplash in your inspiration photo is gorgeous and what should be the attention grabber in the room. The granites your contractor is suggesting are beauiful too (delicatus is one of my favorites) but IMO, it’s a bit too busy and the markings too stark for that backdrop. I would suggest you look at something a little less busy so it won’t compete with the brick....See MoreBrick backsplash ideas
Comments (15)Although I love brick in some kitchens, I am not sure it works here. I love them in very large kitchens, in small amounts and with the right counter. I also love brick if you have it somewhere else in the home to connect the rooms. In your case, I am not sure it will work. Your counters on my monitor look beige with a pink undertone. If I am wrong then consider buying a few bricks and place them on your countertop to sample and see if you still have that vision in your home....See MoreUser
