Culinarian Cook top Griddle Suggestion
Comments (11)I think it is an odd connection I think that is a strange observation to make. Looks like someone is searching to be offended. Nope, I have not made a secret of what I think of the NXR. Never said there were not any CC owners that bought Chef King just that I hadn't read any. Nunbahiz( I don't remember the spelling) that used to be a big advocate for NXR was also a big Chef King fan. Many took both recommendations. That is what I saw a lot of. They may both be 7 gauge but that does not mean the steel is the same just that it is the same thickness. Plus, I think the Rocky Mountain will be more stable. Particularly useful when scraping clean but also if something sticks. Cleaning hot on the rangetop I have found easier than cold in the sink. And I like how the Rocky Mountain encloses the burners and traps heat like the CC wok grate. I think this will lead to more even temperatures across the griddle but not as good a built-in thermo-griddle. But I don't know for a fact since I have not used it. When people buy a new product they usually become fans of it as long as it does not break or perform horribly. Does not make that product the best or best in class. Comments (14)carolml: "Thanks. I guess I need to decide on which cook top I want." We have had a drawer directly under an induction cooktop for twelve years. Originally, it was a Jenn-Air two induction burner, two ribbon radiant burner, cooktop. By the time a unique electronic module of that cooktop failed, Whirlpool had acquired Maytag/Jenn-Air and had completely, utterly, finally orphaned all pre-acquisition models, so -- unable to repair -- we needed to replace the cooktop, and replaced it with an LG LCE30845. We have kept metal utensils in the drawer -- sometimes even literally touching the underside of the cooktop housing -- from day one twelve years ago, no problem. In choosing your new induction cooktop, keep two factors in mind. First, there are very major differences among brands and models of induction cooktops in the depth of the units below the counter surface. Read the dimension specifications carefully. Second, all induction cooktops have fans to blow cooling air over the electronics when in operation; most of those cooktops exhaust the warm air into the cavity below the cooktop. Our Jenn-Air followed that design practice, and the drawer below the cooktop did get warm -- never really hot -- from the exhaust air. The LG we now have exhausts the air from narrow slots above the counter at the rear of the cooktop, and the drawer below the cooktop remains at room temperature....See Morepurchasing advice for 30" induction cook top
Comments (24)Don't have a ton of time.. but I have not had any regrets w/ the Bosch 800.. if I do a LONG homebrew session (90+ minutes of boost mode) it will turn off at some point and flash an E(rror) at me.. I just shut it off and restart and it purrs right along.. Brewing beer on these isn't ideal, honestly.. to get a good boil on a giant pot, I do need to use boost mode, and boost mode turns off every 10 minutes.. However, for every other purpose, it has worked beautifully! p.s. I highly recommend getting a speed oven, also.. We went with the GE Advantium over the range version; but any will do......See MoreInduction cook top
Comments (22)Beverly, I had an induction range installed 3 months ago. I purchased Emeril's cookware that is made by All Clad. Hummm....don't like it. We paid $119 (huge discount for a product that was being replaced.) Cooked stuff doesn't want to get off the inside surface of the pans. So, about a month ago, I purchased a Berndes skillet from Tuesday Morning. Much higher quality. If you go to Amazon you will find that sets of Berndes for a reasonable price. We just got back from a week in St. Louis. Now I need to go to one or both of our restaurant supply stores in town to get an 8" nonstick egg skillet. This will be our only nonstick. I absolutely love our induction range (although I still my miss my extensive Cuisinart collection. I visited them in St. Louis. They looked fine.) My husband also loves that range! Induction is fast, controllable, and clean. I live on an island in Fl, and we can only have propane, not natural gas. Induction is light-years ahead of gas and I'm glad we purchased it! I'm using far fewer numbers of pans and I'm still searching for a couple. But as the number of induction ranges/cooktops grows, the availability of cookware will increase also. I hope....See MoreGooster
