Robert, hah plant addiction, tell me about it. I used to have tall piles of empty pots that were a scary reminder of all my purchases. Now the city accepts them for recycling so I no longer have that problem hahaha! What I'd love to see is a photo of your basement -legendary! Here is the latest addition: citrus myrtifolia 'Chinotto.' Wasn't planning on citrus but this found my nose:) A lot of citrus in the nursery but this variety's perfume was twice as strong , and so floriferous. April is overwhelming as usual I see..Maggie I love my fairy blush but scentwise, I don't find it all that different from doltsopa or even alba to tell the truth, they all range between melon ice cream with a little cinnamon dust sprinkled on top of some to my nose, if you are obsessed with the group like me you have to have them all of course.. Wieseneri is another one I 've been craving for years but still haven't found a reasonably priced one so I don't know how it compares.. I just got back from Rome's orchid show again so I'll try to make a post on that too..So here are mine from April: First bloom on a rhododendron schlippenbachii I got last year and thought I had killed!! Clematis montana mayleen bautiful scent, almond and flowery mitriostigma axillare a zygo hybrid I love and managed to rebloom after 2 years, wonderful scent somewhat hyacinth like, btw mitriostigma also reminds me of hyacinths but not similar to this.. phal. lueddemanniana 'ragan' - just opened so no scent yet, will update and some new entries from the show, phal violacea x buena jewel (exquisite perfume!!) and dendrobium margaritaceum just opened so no scent yet, will update

Virginia, by now I've posted the photos of about 20 roses from my weekend visit to Louis Armstrong Park on HMF. 7-8 of these are noisettes: Fewell's Noisette (4 photos), Tutta’s Pink Noisette (2 photos), Mary Washington, Haynesville Pink Cluster (2 photos), La Nymphe, Mrs. Wood's Lavender-Pink Noisette, Multiflore de Vaumarcus. I noticed that someone with your name posted lovely photos for these and other noisettes. That must be you, I think! I only wish to be better at taking photographs and with something more 'sophisticated' than my iPhone. Hope you find these useful nonetheless. BTW, that Alliance Franco-Russe is indeed beautiful but, as I was taking a closeup photo, it lodged a huge thorn so deep into my shoulder that it required a very slow and careful plucking to remove it! It's absolutely beautiful, I must say, very floriferous, and not a large shrub, ideal for smaller gardens like mine, alas if it would be hardy enough. stillanntn, I had no idea that you are from New Orleans. I fell in love with this city ever since I first saw it some 20 or so years ago. Your old residence is in a gorgeous area! I hope there are still roses planted by that lady and next time I'll make sure to reserve some time to search for them. There is some possibility I'll come back to NO for a weekend again next spring (fingers crossed). Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful memories.
